Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Republican presidential candidate and former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Ben Carson discussed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments about Megyn Kelly “bleeding.”
Carson said, “Well, I think that may be difference between political correctness and courteous speech. There is a difference. What bothers me is when people say, you know, you can’t say this word, you can’t say this phrase, you can’t even think that, you can’t express this. And it’s very difficult for people to have honest conversation if they can’t express themselves. But no way do I advocate saying mean things about people. that has nothing to do with political correctness.”
He added, “I haven’t heard his specific comments but I’ve heard about them. and they certainly would not be the kinds of things that I would engage in.”

Nothing to do with Trump, just "coincidence" (God doesn't have coincidences, does he?), but my Bible study this weekend includes this from the text of Matthew:
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Okay, so look: I am not advocating for Political Correctness. Trump is right about that kind of thing, in my opinion. But Carson, as I understand him, is also right.
Having a manner that is polite but bold in speaking the truth is appropro.
Dr. Ben Carson boldly but politely spoke to the truth to Obama's face about the DISASTER of Obamacare.

Ben is very nice man. Niceness gets you nowhere in politics.

Well, Fox wasn’t quite so impressed with Dr. Carson when he asked if Trump was wrong to suggest McCain might not be a war hero. To that Carson responded: “Depends on your definition.”
That was a good answer and I agreed with him, but Fox didn’t give that Carson answer any airtime and discussion. Didn’t fit the Fox agenda.
The headline doesn’t match the comments. Dr. Carson seems to be a class act.
Fair enough answer to a question that he really shouldn’t have been asked of him. Why not ask him about his position on XYZ...I see ask the candidates to dump on the current board leader.
Being a wussy and never answering a challenge is not presidential, either.
Ben, stay in the medical field.

A very young black lady called into Niel Boortz’s talk show (Atlanta WSB AM 750) the Monday after Bam-bam was elected. She stated without hesitation that because of Bam-bam’s election a black man would never be elected as POTUS ever again.
All kinds of ‘mean things’ are said constantly about whites, the West and traditional America. Where are all these hand wringers when that happens? Just who stands up against this?
