Scott Walker: Don't Focus On 'Racial Discord' Or You'll Only Create More

WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) says the proper way to address racial issues in America is by concentrating on what brings people together rather than focusing on "racial discord." Doing the latter, the presidential candidate argued Sunday, could risk generating even more unrest.

Walker was campaigning outside a restaurant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, when a reporter asked him about the anniversary of the death of teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and what it portends for race relations in South Carolina. The governor answered that Americans should emulate the families of the victims of the Charleston church shooting.

"One, I think in general if anyone focuses on racial discord we’re going to get more," Walker said in a video posted by Democratic opposition research firm American Bridge. "If we focus on unity we’re going to get more of that. The families of the massacre in Charleston showed us the way."

"Even days after the horrific shooting, the emotion they showed, the willingness to try and bring Charleston, this state, this country together. I think it’s a prime example if we focus on things that unite us, ways to share the American dream," he said.

Very true Govenor. The people of Charleston rose above the hate and understand that we all need to live together in Liberty.

Governor Walker is 100 percent correct. Big applause. No wonder he is polling so well. He makes a lot of sense.

A voice of sanity.

As for the self-important newsperson (I’m guessing it was Tim “Bulldog” Waller of WYFF news) who asked the stupid, baiting question, I’d say go find another line of work.

An unarmed black 18 Yr old black man leaves his house
He encounters a white police officer
Minutes later the 18 year old black man is dead.

Rachel Maddows recollection today around noon.

Infuriating... but then there is Carly to back it up.

THIS is how you lead people.....not by insulting them, not by telling them what to do....but by pointing out examples of exceptionalism for all to see and embrace.

Not my first choice, but he’s a “backup choice”.

Governor Walker seems to be a good man.

That’s very true, and Walker said it best.

Fascist politicians and the bosses behind them sow ethnic and racial discord to sway elections toward corruption and violate human rights (constitutional rights). There are too many foreign minds in American politics at every level of government—minds tending toward the foreign cultures that they’re descended from by only a few generations. Their ancestors came only for the American money and influence rather than to become Americans.

Notice that fascist/communist nations also use ethnic and religious discord to provoke proxy nations attack better nations.

Sowell speaks in his books about how the focus on set asides and special quotas in other countries lit the fires of ethnic strife and death.

Walker gets it

I'm a Walker backer, but I will watch what he says concerning the race situation very closely. If he comes out as some sort apologist for black crime, I might have to find a new candidate.

It's about time some candidate spoke the truth about black crime and general dysfunction and said it's time for black people to quit blaming whitey for all their (self-generated) problems. It certainly won't be a Donkey Party pol. I would hope it would be Ben Carson, but that might be hoping too much.

He had some ridiculously incoherent answers in the debate, especially on foreign policy. Gibberish. Likely that hurt him in the polls.

Hey, how's your Governor doing? I thought so. Nathan Deal is a fricking joke.

I was born in and still live in WI. Walker has been a godsend. He saved the state from that POS Jim Doyle and the unions.

I'm mixed about supporting him for POTUS, but he's still among the top 5 running. I would vote for him if he's the nominee and chooses a strong running mate.
