Yes. Not really a debate, more of a mass interview where the candidates had to compete for attention.

It’s late and Trump fatigue is setting in...

And yet, you can't take your eyes off it, can you? I understand. I can't either.

solemnly pontificate big bubbles of nonsense.

Maybe it's the wee hour, but I swear that is one of the funniest phrases I have ever seen. The mental image it brings to mind is just hilarious. I'm trying to keep it down so I don't wake my wife :-)

What a wordsmith!

Boycotting Fox in favor of ABC, CBS, CNN and NBC looks and sounds like a schedule approved by the White House.

It makes sense in the fact that a significant part of the electorate will respond positively in the voting booth to a recognizable name when they no nothing about him or the other candidates. That’s why they call it name recognition. That’s why Jeb Bush is where he is now.

Fox News has branded Trump a Non-person. Judge jeneen never even spoke his name on her saturday show. The word is out to not give Trump any good PR. He is wise to go on the shows and tell his side and double down—not try to “patch things up” with Meegyn kelly or Fox News. He better have something really important to say—some new tack that will steal headlines. A bold move would be his best bet. he should admit his anger and show how it was justified. But, move on from the Faux Debate—They will do their best to torpedo him too with Gotcha Questions about 3rd Party Runs and anti-women comments. He must be ready. BUT he must get out the message—He’s Not done.

Great analysis. It goes to prove the Beltway Cocoon Principle: “Why discuss the facts, when the facts conflict with firmly established opinions.”

We have here a negotiating ploy, by a master negotiator.

Donald Trump has calculated that Fox News needs Donald Trump more than Donald Trump needs Fox News. Would they have had 28 million viewers for their debate without him on the stage?

How many eyeballs will be watching their competition this morning, that ordinarily would be watching Fox, for one reason and one reason only-Donald Trump? I’m not so sure the lefty media won’t go easier on him than Fox did. It’s going to be interesting to watch.

Those at Fox probably won’t realize this until ratings come out, and they’ll realize they’ve screwed up. Look for Fox to capitulate, at some point, in some way, probably not today.

I think Trump’s calculation is a correct one, we’ll see.

Perhaps this is under the category of “be careful what you wish for”, but we’ve all been hoping for someone with and (R) by their name who would play rough with the media, and here we have someone.

Trump and Free Republic: The Trump story has had an exciting run the last few months here on Free Republic.

For instance, it seems that if the headline of a message includes the word Trump in it---either for or against Trump---the message ends up with so many responses that I find it hard to keep up with most of them. That is, I can't seem to find the time to respond to all the messages I want to.

Yes, this amazing Trump run has been a lot of fun for a political junkie like me who frequently posts here at Free Republic.

I just hope that Trump hangs on and stays around as long as he can so that we can continue to have stimulating political discussions here at Free Republic---for or against Trump---during this long presidential campaign season.

So, with Trump battling the media and his opponents just about every day, it will not be a dull presidential campaign season here at Free Republic, if Trump can stay around for a long time.

And what is Fox News going to talk about....what happened Thursday night, and Erick’s convention yesterday...

What is Trump going to talk about....him, his campaign, moving on....

These Trump threads have been apt to devolve into online shouting matches. Your summation pretty much nails it. It was also a nice bit of relief from the 'back and forth' that is prevalent throughout this thread.

Now if we can just get Ted Cruz talked about by the media this much,...

"Think of it this way. In each week there are only 3 slots for about 5 political shows each. That is 15 chances for a political candidate, or their surrogates, to pitch themselves to the American people. Trump just sucked up 3 of the 15 slots (a full 20%) for himself. Even if he doesn't add to his poll numbers, he just blocked out three other candidates from adding to theirs. And Trump has the money (which he doesn't have to spend due to the free publicity) to outlast most of the others. This is a huge move for Trump."

Even better ASB, Al Sharpton can't get a word in edge wise, does anyone notice how that whole cabal has gone silent as The Donald dominates the airwaves? For that one reason alone, he is the best thing that has happened to TV in a long time...

>>>>>I’m not so sure the lefty media won’t go easier on him than Fox did. <<<<<

A non-double negative doesn’t occur when no two forms of non-negation aren’t not used in no not-same sentence.

Did you mean, “I’m not so sure the lefty media WILL go easier on him than Fox. “?

;) good morning. BTW I think the networks will treat him better than FOX did too .... I think???

If, or when, Trump drops out every candidate, from both parties, will be calling him asking for money and an endorsement.

That is why he won’t commit not running 3rd party...He even said he will not give up his leverage...love iom or hate him...he does know a thing or two about leverage.

Interesting that they think not mentioning his name will get them bigger ratings. LOL

Thanks for the mention of that. It just makes FauxNews look that much more small, petty, and insignificant.

It’s not a cable news channel. It’s a 14 hour version of the view with ten of replays.

Fox News is on the run. Megynecologist Kelly is spinning and playing the “I was sick” card in a lame attempt to deflect from her performance. All 3 so called moderators are saying they were only asking questions the libs would ask. Trump has them on the defensive and it is beautiful.
