Prior to the 1960's, rape was a capital crime. Perps were sometimes sentenced to death; either under the justice system, or under the vigilante justice system.

I can understand rapists and armed robbers wanting their victims to be unarmed. I can understand petty current and future tyrants wanting their subjects to have no hope of resisting. Otherwise, wanting women to be defenseless strikes me as a shockingly evil war on women. I’d rather arm and train them, as I trained my daughters, for a war on predators.
