Why would an impartial moderator have to "deal with Trump". Sounds like they are out to nullify him.

They’d love it if he started hitting the other candidates, or offering them $5 million to drop out. Or maybe he could switch parties twice during the debate or change his name to Caitlin. Here's their plan. You can bet that Trump has gone into many high stakes business meetings where there were plans to nullify him.I doubt that those plans worked, that is why he "is very rich".

I'd be mostly worried about dirty tricks along the lines of making him trip on stage, or spiking his water/drink with something.

If I were Trump, I'd bring my own food and beverages as well as watch every step. Just my 2 cents.

Yep. Trump will NOT be super bombastic (which they probably are hoping he is for ratings). Instead, Trump will be polite and attack the media, democrats, and gov’t in general. He will only attack the other candidates IF they attack him first. And he will use his response time to make sure he attacks them back per the rules...if they get mentioned they can get 30 seconds to respond (I believe).

So the other candidates would be wise to not attack Trump.

A good strategy for Trump would be to have several people attack him so that he can speak more...each attack is 30 more seconds :-)

The thing is there hasn't any semblance of a real debate on national TV since Kennedy-Nixon in 1960.

A real debate is a no holds bar format and you either are quick and to the point or your out. I would love to see a free for all.
