“Witchcraft” Suspected in Savage Murder of Family in Pensacola [DHS connection]

Escambia County Deputies suspect witchcraft was a motivating factor in the savage murders of a mother and her two sons in Pensacola last week.

And in the latest shocking twist, one of the victims was a “critical member” of the Department of Homeland Security.

...

Richard Smith was described by Sheriff David Morgan as a “critical member” of the Department of Homeland Security. Morgan had to communicate with several national agencies to ensure his investigation didn’t pose a threat to national security.

Authorities have evidence that led them to believe witchcraft was somehow involved in their deaths, saying it was a “ritualistic” act. Investigators noted that their murders occurred on the night of a blue moon, which is heavily referenced in witchcraft lore, and occurs once every three years.

Investigators say they spoke to a person of interest in the case, but didn’t release a name or photo. All they confirmed was that the person of interest is a “white male” believed to have ties to a faction of witchcraft.

...

Deputies also noted that the Smith family was “reclusive.” They lived in the same house for 27 years, rarely speaking to any of their neighbors on Deerfield Drive.

This is surprising, usually the police suppress information of ritualistic homicide.

Something tells me that maybe the reason the cops have a suspect so quickly is that they know that the victims were already involved in satanic stuff.

“...a blue moon occurs once every three years...”

There will be 2 blue moons in the year 2018.

Not good. These jackasses kill people because they think it will give them power. They find out it doesn’t, but by then they have found out that they like terrorizing and killing.

There were 4 Blue Moons in the first 3 months of 1980 (a Leap Year) - Jan 1st and 31st, no Full Moon in the 29 days of February, then March 1st and 31st. Typical journalistic stupidity.

The blue moon is only the second one in the month, so that would be two.

“witchcraft” is a broad term. Often pagans use moon cycle or phases to carry out certain (pagan or nature-based) rituals; but, nowadays, most pagans are not ‘murderers’.

Incidentally, I can think of few countries and a couple of religions whose calendar is lunar. Does this mean they are were pagans, or are more prone to killing others during the full moon?

Full moon or moon cycle is not necessarily related to any specific behaviour. Except for the the brightness of the moon during the full moon, allowing to perform certain activities more freely (especially in ancient times) than when the moon isn’t visible.

I think it has more to do with lore and mythology. Think luna, lunar, also our common reference to the ‘mentally ill’ or out-of-the-norm behaviour, i.e. “lunatic”.

I haven’t read anything conclusive - a few variables are involved.

Definitely do not want pagans, wiccans, satanists or muslims working for dhs

I have to agree. This is not wiccan, any more than those kids in W. Memphis were Satanists.
While I don’t agree with wiccan beliefs, it is not evil, and has nothing to do with satanism.
Santaria...maybe, and could be loosely considered a cousin to wicca, but in my opinion is closer to VooDoo.
This sounds more like retaliation dressed up to look like something else.

I’m not into wiccan, paganism, etc. either. Only that the moon has played a significant part in ancient and to-date calendars, hence rituals (ceremonies or religious observations).

Hebrew calendar is lunisolar, same as Chinese & Hindu ones. The mentioned grps have ‘rituals’ according to their lunar phases/months.

Gregorian calendar, which is a civil calendar we now use, was based on reform of Julian calendar.

My other point was that there is no clear correlation between moon phases, behaviour and crime; some studies say there is a change of behaviour and an increase in crime rate, others say there isn’t. Seems to be a few variables involved in those studies that may well convolute matters.

They did a multi-year study of police calls related to the appearance of a Full Moon, and they showed over a 5 year period, from cities all over the world that there was no increase in police calls during those periods.
Scientific, who knows, but anecdotal enough for me not to put any stock in the myth.

As for wicca, I did dabble a little in youth, and have read extensively on most world religions.
I still have some friends who are wiccan. Fine sweet people, who have goodness in their heart, just not Jesus Christ.
Fortunately, I acutely felt God’s absence.

>>”I still have some friends who are wiccan. Fine sweet people, who have goodness in their heart, just not Jesus Christ.”<<

That’s my understanding of wiccan too. Though I wouldn’t call wiccan a ‘religion’ as such - more a nature-based philosophy about ‘the universe’.
