Before we all jump on the Trump Wagon, let's take the time for a serious look on where he stands on important issues. Once upon a time he supported Universal healthcare. He voted for Obama in 2008.

I like his bravado too. I want to believe. But I have some concerns. There is lots of time left for all this to play out.

Another one missing the point!

It matters not what he stands for at this point, it is such a positive thing that he is waking up the Republican base - again, I might add. He is destroying the money based GOP and Democratic platforms. This has been what it is all about.

Way too many of you here (Conservatives all) are too conservative ingrained to be open to understanding the take down that is happening. Trump is in the process of destroying the GOP money making machine (and along with that the Democratic machine) that has held up captive for decades!

Regardless of who wins in the end, Trump is doing us an enormous favor!! AI don’t really care if Trump wins, he will be so much better that any of the political creeps that are available at this point - regardless of his beliefs. Could his actions be worse that Obama’s?

The Kochheads are not conservatives. They are massively pro-amnesty, pro-LBGT, pro-drug legalization, pro-TPT “treaty”. They give MILLIONS to dozens of La Raza groups, and no one seems to know about it. The Tea Party and Republicans need to show those old fokkers the door.

on the issue of crony capitalism? The Kochs are MUCH better than Trump. Amnesty? Not so much.

Crony capitalism won't turn American into Venezuela. Amnesty will. The Kochs are therefore TRAITORS.

I’m thinking he backed McCain in 08. Could be wrong, but don’t think so

[Once upon a time he supported Universal healthcare. He voted for Obama in 2008.] This is all true, but......

I think those two parts could be put together to those who supported the same and now tell them, “like you I voted for Obama, and for Obamacare, but now you and I have seen how much of a disaster both have become.” “Our medical system is worse off and our country has not “come together-— in fact it is more divided. And on top of that more and more people are going into poverty every day due to Obama’s economic policies.”

Agreed. I wasn’t a Trump supporter when hen dived in. It was just another Trump joke, publicity stunt. What he has done though, I like. The primaries are a long way off, and things can change quickly. It may help Cruz, who was my early choice and it may not. It sure has pumped some energy into the race though

I thought I’d read where they (Koch Bros) are pro-amnesty. I’d not heard about the LGBT, drug, LaRaza connections. Their trade bill support doesn’t surprise me.

I don’t think the Tea Party will “show them the door”, as they help fund most of the Tea groups, don’t they? JennyBeth Martin (TP Patriots?) sent an email slamming Trump, just last week :-/

It matters not what he stands for at this point,

I'm hiring a president to do a job. I want the person that is talking to have some credibility so I can trust him to do his job properly when he's hired.

Voting for who you want for President is just a small part of electing a President for the Country. The major problem is getting to the point that electing who you want is also wanted by others. You can vote to hire whomever you want but others may disagree.

So, look at what is going on in the cycle and make your choice intelligently.

Actually, cronyism can indeed turn us into Venezuela - or any banana republic - so don’t fool yourself. Continued massive illegal immigration could too.

Venezuela is a special case. They are trapped in tyranny because inbred, unskilled, illiterate masses support it. We are importing those same people here by the millions. It is just a matter of time.

Cronyism is just another word for government picking winners and losers...and it’s a major step on the road to socialism. Or, a major step on the road to Oligarchy, as we see in Russia today. Either way, cronyism is a damned cancer that not only relies on big and powerful government, but helps maintain and grow gov power and size.

Please don’t act like Venezuela is the only case study for crony cancer.
