Donald Trump: ‘I’m not a debater’

Four days before the first debate of the 2016 presidential election cycle, Republican front-runner Donald Trump says viewers shouldn’t expect to see fireworks from his side of the stage.

“I’m not a debater,” Trump said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. “These politicians — I always say, they’re all talk, no action. They debate all the time. They go out and they debate every night. I don’t debate.”

“Maybe my whole life is a debate, in a way,” Trump continued. “But the fact is I’m not a debater and they are. But with that being said, I look forward to it. We’ll see what happens. Who knows?”

The real estate mogul says he won’t be in attack mode — a shift from what we’re used to seeing from Trump on the campaign trail.

“I don’t think I’m going to be throwing punches,” he said. “I’m not looking to attack them. … Every attack I made was a counterpunch. I mean, they attacked me first and I hit them back and maybe harder than they hit me. But the fact is that I’ve been attacked pretty viciously by some of these guys. And I have a lot of respect for numerous people on the stage. I will tell you, I have great respect for some of the people on the stage. But I have been attacked and I counterpunch. I didn’t start the attacks.”

Thursday’s primetime GOP debate, televised on Fox, will feature the top 10 Republican candidates as calculated by an average of the last five major national polls, according to the network’s rules. And a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday shows Trump is surging.

[He’s using easily recognizable tag lines and quotes over and over]

According to Forbes, the average attention span is now 5 minutes down from 20 minutes. It is probably less with those who use IPods, etc.

Most Americans can only take in tag lines and quotes. They listen for a moment and go on to the next thing.

Hey Jane, wasn’t Trump being mocked and laughed at for using the Internet like he is? Seems all the candidates now use the same Internet venue he does, but not quite having the success.

One week...And those are just followers. Imagine the number of non-sign up viewers in a week.

The chart has to be staggering to all the guys listed underneath Trump. I’d say with all the polls, coverage and supporters, this really historical stuff were seeing.

I know there have been at least 3 possibly 4 professional malicious attempts to blow the tires off his campaign. Countless other attempts. No success.

Were watching some historic stuff here.

Agree! And, he’s not even a professional politician ;-)

Yes, historic and fascinating. I’ve said the same to my college age son.

The RINO clowns will be attacking Trump. He needs some canned responses cause their attacks will be predictable.

I’m having a hard time waiting for this first debate. If it wasn’t for Trump it would be nothing more than a mutual ass kissing contest to see who wants to be Bush’s running mate the most!

Cruz would be the only other exception!

Fascinating and quite entertaining as well with the MSM and professional opponents getting tossed around like beach balls. They can't deal with common sense and what benefits America, not other countries.

I'm waiting to hear the U.N. threatened to move it's headquarters out of NY, leave the United States and relocate to Honduras or possibly San Francisco if Trump wins the nomination?☺

The Donald salivates at the thought.

It’s sort of confusing but I think Huffinpuff is reporting that Donald won’t show up for the debate.

Trump: I don’t debate (for a living), I’ve created tremendous jobs.

Astoundingly good advice.......

I do think Donald's famous "You're Fired" has been surpassed by his
"You're finished" (to the Telemundo reporter at the border presser).

I’m a sure he is.

Btw, I was serious about them dealing with the issues when if comes to what actually benefits America. It’s simple. These professionals and their owners are much more concerned with what benefits other countries, the government and the politician’s owners.
