That number is the heat index; “is xxx degrees, feels like yyy degrees”.

Yikes, that is hot!

A couple of years ago we had a heat wave here in Houston , I recorded 112 , the air was searing hot! We are in the midst of a heat wave right now, 100 degrees is pretty average for the area. It is forecast for at least the next week.

F = (9⁄5)C + 32 so 43C is 109 degrees F. it was hotter in Houston a couple years ago than it was in Bandar Mahshahar on Saturday. Throw in the humidity, and the heat index may have been the same.

Houston is air conditioned ( now) I wonder about that he’ll hole over there.

Tonight's event is very similar to that of 15 March 2013 in Chelyabinsk.

I thought the Chelyabinsk object exploded midair, where this story seems to indicate it hitting the ground.

Could it have been a mini-nuke test in the atmosphere, meteor story as a cover?

I’m not bashing them; I mirthfully approve if it was the Israis, although the Almighty smiting the mullahs would be much better!

That’s a typical summer evening in the coastal regions of the Arabian Gulf.

It like saying it’s -60 in Bemidji, MN or Barrow, AK during the winter.

It looks like it might have been a single rock that exploded with the smaller pieces hitting the ground in at least three places.

There is some thought that this might be a military strike using a missile with a MIRV (multiple incoming re-entry vehicles) since this meteorite split into three pieces as it was descending through the atmosphere.

Was it American or Israeli? Anything’s possible.

Found this news article with some video from Iran.

Large meteorite impacts Iran causing serious damage to Qazvin, numerous towns affected
http://thewatchers.adorraeli.com/2015/08/02/large-meteorite-impacts-iran-causing-serious-damage-to-qazvin-numerous-towns-affected/

They show what appears to be a piece of the meteorite, but no impact crater(s) or the damage done to the towns.
