Claiming bringing foreigners as H-1Bs into the US instead of controlling off-shoring is like liberals claiming a girl should not fight a rapist but invite him in and enjoy the screw.

A non story, he has probably employed over 100,000 Americans over the last decade, minimum.

I was surprised the number was so low.

Re: “Ted Cruz is trying to get 325,000 more H-1B foreign workers in.”

Actually, Ted Cruz is trying to get at least 2.75 million more H-1B foreign workers.

Today, the yearly quota is 65,000. Add 20,000 more for Ph.D's and a long list of “specialists.” Multiply times six. Why six? Because each H-1B is automatically renewable for six years. Universities, government agencies, and non-profit labs can hire an unlimited number of H-1B’s that do not count against the yearly quota. How many H-1B’s work “off quota?” No one knows, because there are no records.

The minimum estimate of H-1B’s currently in the USA is 550,000, which is where I get the 2.75 million number for Ted Cruz (550,000 times 500%).

At least one scholar at the Center for Immigration Studies estimates the number of H-1B’s currently in the USA is “close to 1 million.”

Oh I know, that word “misleading” sure gets bandied around a lot.

Kind of like the “liberal media” is going after this or that candidate, regardless of who that candidate is.

When one posts something from a conservative outlet that takes on the Donald, people still seem to toss around the pablum of of “liberal media” this or “liberal media” that.

But carry on nonetheless with your Red Herrings and diversions anyway...

Simple solution: pay more to attract American citizens to these jobs, if indeed foreign workers were sought out.

Not so simple in industries that make extensive use of illegal aliens and poor legal immigrants. For your "simple" solution to work, the entire hotel and resort industry would have to be required to follow the same employment rules.

Secondly, no American citizens could be found to fill the positions of assistant hotel manager and banquet manager if indeed foreign workers were sought out for these positions?

Honestly. Please.

Honesly, neither you nor I know if temporary-visas were used to fill such positions. Something specific would be required for those situations to be addressed.

And, as I posted elsewhere, 1,100 temporary workers over fifteen years for a multi-location hotel and golf course operation like Trump's is a tiny number of jobs. That probably averages to only single digit temporary employees per hotel or golf course in a given year.

Welfare to work programs that Trump has proposed are the answer to much of this.

Absolutely true. That 325,000 is just for 1 year, with that many more every year after that.

Over the years we have had millions of foreigners take American jobs to the point we are suffering millions unemployed, yet, out politicians want to bring in even more foreign workers.

Most of them were attractive WHITE models and waitresses and maids from Eastern Europe! It's easy to understand why the liberals are mad.

LoL. ;^)

Exactly, go to the Trump hotel construction in DC and you will see hundreds of people working. That is one location. He has employed 100,00’s of people and the amount of H1-B’s is tiny.

Liberals always complain about ‘dirty money’ so they stay pure and become professors. Business is not always pretty, sorry.

If they paid more, American citizens would take those jobs.

So what is it, as I see some here saying that many Americans would rather have welfare when clearly welfare can’t compete with the $ that an assistant hotel manager and a banquet manager would get, if indeed foreign workers were sought out for theses positions.

But wait, there’s more:

Some like you are saying that the illegals are keeping American workers from getting the jobs, but others here at FR have said in the past that they come here because no Americans want those jobs in the first place. So which is it? ...

[BTW, were cheap burgers being flipped by the cooks or were nice meals being served if foreign workers were indeed sought out?]

... Back to what I said before that as in the part in [ ]:

So many here say conflicting things that it can make an owls head spin off, and owls have no problem turning their heads round and round, but some Freepers here could make them do it!

Re: “LEGAL immigrants are what make the fabric of this nation so rich.”

Legal immigrants also vote 80% for the Democrat Party.

Which is why it doesn’t matter who the GOP nominates for president, because our candidate is going to lose.

Americans won’t be content doing those jobs at the offered price point. By “content”, it means they won’t stay long and won’t be that interested in performing so well.

If companies can offer more they should, but many cannot because margins are tight. Also , the less profit you make, the less you have to invest and grow which means you will be losing out to another company in the medium term.

Overall, it’s called capitalism.

The which is it, is, that our brilliant politicians have created means tested poverty programs that make it more financially beneficial, or about equally so, for many people to stay on government programs rather than take jobs such as hotel workers and golf course maintenance.

As Trump has proposed, welfare to work programs are a critical need in addressing that situation. Americans will take those jobs if given no easy way to avoid taking them.

************ Question: ss long as they have a visa it’s ok if they take jobs that Americans might take if they paid a little more, if indeed foreign workers were sought out for these jobs? ************

Legal or not, is a job a job?

Is it take back jobs from China or bring the Chinese here to do the jobs? /s.

Typical evasive insult...

She was right, so you give her the bazoingo put down.

I think you’re generally better than this.

This was a moronic title intended to create a wedge between Trump and his supporters.

The article doesn’t address the issue in the title.

Further, none of us are against all H1-Bs. We don’t like how they are being used to displace qualified U. S. Citizen workers.

Think about this for a moment.

Since the beginning of 2001, Trump companies sought to bring in 1,100 H1-B workers. We’re not even told if they did bring them in.

15.5 years / 1,100 people.

That’s 70.96 workers per year, or 5.9 workers per month.

And that’s only if he succeeded in bringing all 1,100 in.

The headline says, “SOUGHT TO...”

If American workers have to be paid a little more to get them to cook, waitress and so on, is true patriotism found in the dollar and perhaps saving a buck or two or is true patriotism found in hiring American workers even if it means paying a little more?

WHERE IS TRUE PATRIOTISM FOUND???

This having to paymore for theses jobs doesn’t apply to assistants hotel manager and banquet manager, as I imagine that those pay enough that Americans citizens would work those jobs (if indeed foreign workers were sought out to fill any of the aforementioned positions here and/or the ones the article talks about).

Thanks. The long knives are definitely coming out for Trump, from ALL directions. We’re going to see a lot more of this in the coming weeks. They’re showing us who they fear.

Well, when the Leftist Democrats, Republicans, and Media come after him and his supporters, you realize you’re on the right path.
