The latest issue of Action Comics finds Superman battling a foe on the streets of Metropolis, but this time he isnt taking on his rival Lex Luther. Instead, hes battling the police, which has some people outraged.
Theres some fans that are alienated, a portion of the older fans," said Dimitrios Fragiskatos, the manager of Midtown Comics in New York City. "[But] younger fans seem to be embracing it.
The new issue comes from the minds of Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder, who have imagined a much darker story for arguably the world's most iconic superhero. The comic has been making waves for its controversial theme as the parallels to the riots in Ferguson and St. Louis are impossible to ignore.
In the issue, Clark Kents secret identity has been revealed, he has been stripped of most of his powers and hes ditched his tights. Instead, Kent wears just a T-shirt and jeans, along with tatters of his Superman cape over his fists.
The downtrodden hero returns to a town that is fearful of him. Although a group of his supporters decide to celebrate his return, the police department soon arrives to break up the party. One of his supporters gets unruly, the police get angry, and before long, a full blown riot breaks out. The comic ends with Superman punching a police officer in the face.

I never missed an issue of Superman and Action for 25 years, but when they killed Superman in the 90’s, I gave up comics forever. After seeing what they’ve done with iconic superheroes lately, I’m glad I don’t read them anymore.
just no
To what purpose?

The famous freckle-faced comic book icon is meeting his demise in Wednesdays installment of Life with Archie when he intervenes in an assassination attempt on Kevin Keller, Archie Comics first openly gay character. Andrews death, which was first announced in April, will mark the conclusion of the series that focuses on grown-up renditions of Andrews and his Riverdale pals.
The way in which Archie dies is everything that you would expect of Archie, said Jon Goldwater, Archie Comics publisher and co-CEO. He dies heroically. He dies selflessly. He dies in the manner that epitomizes not only the best of Riverdale but the best of all of us. Its what Archie has come to represent over the past almost 75 years.
Kellers character first joined Veronica Lodge, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones and Reggie Mantle in the Archie Comics spin-off Veronica in 2010. He later appeared in his own solo title.
In Life with Archie, Kevin Keller is a married military veteran and newly elected senator whos pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting.

What? You mean Superman is not Black?
I thought everyone who is anyone anymore is Black.
Didn’t a Black scientist create Krypton? They were all Muslims too. I know they had some White people, after all someone had to be the villain.
Liberals can’t create, they only tear down.
So who is the good guy here? Answer: two bad guys as the two good guys are turned into bad guys.
Superman is white and still a man? I figured he would have been a downlow transgendered biracial queen by now.
We are in the Last Days.
To further advance the hate-America, left-wing agenda --in this case through the kiddies.
Sometimes . . . sometimes I wonder how much more pleasant the world would be if bad things started happening to idiot liberals. Really bad things. Life changing bad things.
Is that wrong?
“Focus Group Fails” for $500..
Same here. I still read my old comics. Don’t care for the new BS. I guess they ran out of ideas.
It sounds like the commie libs are getting ready to bring Superman out of the closet so he can join the rest of the LGBTEXLAX “super gay heroes”. Rainbow Man the Cop Killer from the planet KYnite. I know, as the kids say, that sounds “gay”.
What next, Superman exits the closet to marry Jimmy Olsen?
Leftist propaganda.
The new Superman is the personification of the Fascist Left unchained.
