Nobody is tipping and prices are up 21%.
So the customer paying 21% more eats out less and the worker who used to get mostly tax free tips now has all their money taxed.
That is what government wants all way around.
How DARE you post a reasoned logical comment! Using facts is outrageous!
Husband & I are both retired. (He still works every hour that the good Lord sends, though - selling on ebay & all that involves.) Still, we don’t eat out all that much. Sunday lunch at places that are still fairly affordable, birthdays, holidays. Wendy’s is still reasonable AND we like Frosty’s. The free senior ones are just the right size!- I’ve always had to cook; but it has declined over the years to much simpler fare. - We still tip a generous, but reasonable amount (at restaurants where they have waiters to our table) 20% at supper & 15% at lunch. I reckon that’s still a sufficient amount.
i didn’t endorse the policy i only stated that the article was fair. and if you want start a the discussion about why are restaurants exempt from the socialist laws, i can’t go there, it’s socialism. we live it every day. by way of disclosure i oppose all the amendments to the constitution. staring with the first. none have proven necessary. i have and retain all of my God bestowed rights regardless of any government instituted among men that can feebly try to protect them.
