Trashing Trump: Why the pundits are now eating their words
Media Buzz Fox News ^ | July 31, 2015 | Howard Kurtz

For a deep dive on how the mainstream media have utterly mishandled Donald Trump’s candidacy, there is no better place to start than Chris Cillizza.

The Washington Post’s “Fix” columnist is a seasoned political observer, MSNBC contributor and certifiably nice guy. And for a journalist who isn’t a bomb-thrower, he has also been unrelentingly hostile to Trump (now known as the Republican front-runner).

Now, with Trump leading in a plethora of polls, Cillizza, to his credit, is admitting he was wrong, both in print and on the air. Trump “has quite clearly tapped into a populist message that plenty of people…are responding to,” he wrote yesterday. And: “Trump has been right a heck of a lot more than I have about his rise in this race.”

That doesn’t mean Trump will win the nomination. It doesn’t mean he would be a good president. But it does mean he is running circles around a press corps that made the huge mistake of treating him with disdain.

Trump has tapped into something that the others need to, but they need to have honesty and integrity about it, not just lip service.

Other than Cruz, Walker, and possibly Hucklebee, the others can’t make up the lost territory. Their super-sized egos thought they could take him down because they had political experience that he is lacking. I wonder if they want ketchup or mustard with that crow?

I’ve heard Howard Kurtz on Fox a couple of times this week ... he gets it why Trump is leading at this point. He is one of the very few people on TV that does get it I believe.

Please, media drive-by hacks on right and left, stop using the term "populist." This is a specific term meaning 19th century big-government INFLATIONISTS who wanted gubment to OWN the railroads.

Trump, whatever you think his positions are, is not an inflationist and does not want gubment to own businesses. ONLY Democrats can be populists.

Good point. But it has a negative “feel” so they will continue to use it.

These pundits are like muslims who marry first cousins. They have diminished mental capacity.
Every reporter in Washington talks to themselves or their first cousin who might be their spouse also There is no new clean water going into their lake and it is dying. The Tea Party was exciting and the real source of Trump's early success. The Tea Party failed because it went around saying we are the people, there are no leaders. Trump has become their leader. He is the leader of everyone not drinking the polluted waters of Washington. As an aside, the article talks of Trump's high negatives. Well lordy, lordy look at granny's! If they go any higher, you can walk to the space station from then.

If you’re fed up with the “wet finger in the wind” flip-flopping hacks and looking for consistency in a candidate who loves this country, check out this 3 minute video from 27 YEARS AGO! Seems that Donald — like most of the rest of us — understands that things have become so bad that he HAD to go for it!
TAKE THAT, ESTABLISHMENT GOP!!

I hope the press and the haters continue to treat Trump with disdain. It works in his favor and gives him all kinds of ammo to fire back with.

Hilarious! I lived with the mooslims for a couple of years (an eternity in dog years) in Afghanistan. Consanguinity will eventually save us from the Islamic scourge although not in our (or our children’s) lifetimes. It may even take out some of the pompous hordes in the media, e.g. Krauthammer, Hume, Will, etc.

The 2016 GOP Candidate Field better get ready for a can of Donald Trump "Whoop Ass" ...

Why ?

The "conventional" MSM wisdom is that Trump entered the race on a whim ... and will simply continue his bombastic style at the first Fox News GOP Presidential Debate next Thursday.

That's a recipie for disaster for the other GOP Candidates.

Consider this.

Trump's new book will be released next Thursday (August 6, 2015) .... which means that Trump made the "presidential run decision" OVER A YEAR AGO ... to get a book written, edited and published in 365 days.

Indeed, Trump probably had to start the book project at least 18 months ago.

Fast forward to the "politically predictable" first GOP Presidential Debates on Fox News.

Trump has had between 12 and 18 months to secretly prepare for this game-chaning debate.

His opponents are all looking for "silver bullet" to nail Trump in the debate, to salvge their own struggling campaigns.

So how does Donald Trump prepare ?

Get 12 months of the BEST POSSIBLE briefings on foreign policy, military readiness, economic status, Common Core, Planned Parenthood, illegal immigration crime stats, ISIL, Israel, Export-Import bank, TPA-TTP ... the works ...

and if-when a John Kasich / Mike Huckabee type tries to nail Trump on a "technical question" ... Trump blasts them with both barrels with facts and statistics of his own ...

just like a "legitimate" U.S. Presidential Candidate is expected to.

Moreover, Trump has (probably) already secretly created a special campaign website (to be announced at the debate) with an easy simple-to-remember name like "AmericanVictory'org" (as an example).

Fifty million (50,000,000) GOP voter internet visits later ... Trump will have spelled-out (with pictures and quick two minute videos) his "detailed" approach to a dozen different national issues.

Trumps' GOP debate opponents have neither the brains, vision or MONEY to do all that ... except perhaps Ted Cruz.

Finally ... "Yeb Bush" is taken down by Trump with the simple question:

How can you call "immigration an act of love" when 7,567 Americans have been vrutally assaulted, raped, and murdered by illegal immigrants over the last XX years ?

Godspeed Ted Cruz and Donald Trump !
