Hillary Clinton: As honest and trustworthy as Donald Trump
Washington Post ^ | 08/01/2015 | By Chris Cillizza

Hillary Clinton has a problem. In a new Quinnipiac University national poll, more than one in three voters say that the most important trait they are looking for in a 2016 candidate is being "honest and trustworthy." Almost six in ten of those polled said that Hillary Clinton lacks those two traits.

Uh oh.

Clinton's problems with the honest/trustworthy question is not new. As I wrote back in April:

There's a widespread belief in her capability to do the job she is running for. There's also widespread distrust in her personally. People admire her but don't know if she's honest.

The Q poll trend line shows a steady line of distrust towards Clinton. In May 39 percent of people said she was honest and trustworthy. In April that number was 38 percent. And, before you dismiss Clinton's honesty issue as simply the carping of Republicans, look inside the Q numbers. Just 31 percent of independents describe her as honest and trustworthy while 62 percent say she is not. One in five Democrats (19 percent) say Clinton is not honest and trustworthy(!).

Need more evidence of how bad Clinton's numbers are on the honesty question? She and Donald Trump have nearly identical ratings on it. Thirty-three percent said Trump was honest and trustworthy, while 58 percent said he wasn't. Trump's numbers among independents (33 honest/58 not) are actually slightly better than Clinton's.

I’m confused. 1/3 said they want “honesty and trustworthy” candidates. We haven’t even a whiff of either in 7 years. Now they want it or they continue to believe that most dems are “honest an trustworthy”. Just not Hill? Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder. It’s Quinnipiac so I assume they polled a majority dems.

“People admire her”

I think I’m going to be sick.

LOL. Just one out of three? No wonder the country is so screwed up. I guess the other two just want the freebies.

Donald Trump, as far as I know, has never sent anyone to their death. Case closed.

Or you'll end up in a reeducation camp.

Michael Ramirez, today, incorporates the "H" symbol with the down arrow that some FReeper came up with when she first released her logo.

My neighbors love her. Everything I tell them about here, which is the truth, they poo poo off as a Fox News hit piece. I remind them that Fox News didn’t cheat on her. Fox News didn’t manage the bimbo eruptions, fire the travel office, lie about corkscrewing into an airport under fire, name herself after sir Edmund Hillary or let 4 American patriots die and then have the nerve to lie about it.

To them I am going blah blah blah. But sure as s*it, they will bring up George Bush’s DWI in college or his missed dentists appointment as a reason why he shouldn’t be President.

Yes, it’s all about ideology - facts matter not one bit. When ISIS or China or N. Korea breach our borders and come to cut their necks we both know it will be G. Bush’s fault and not the progressives that empowered and financed them.

Maybe people fear her. People often admire fearsome creatures.

Hillary Clinton = honest? No, this is a huge oxymoron. Honesty and Hillary Clinton are mutually exclusive and cannot be used in the same sentence.
