Jeb: Humans contribute to climate change

GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush says human activity is contributing to climate change and the country has an obligation to work to stop it.

“I think it’s appropriate to recognize this and invest in the proper research to find solutions over the long haul but not be alarmists about it,” Bush said in an interview published Thursday with Bloomberg BNA.

“We should not say the end is near, not deindustrialize the country, not create barriers for higher growth, not just totally obliterate family budgets, which some on the left advocate by saying we should raise the price of energy so high that renewables then become viable,” he added.

The remarks differ from comments Bush made as recently as June on the issue, when he recognized that the climate is changing but questioned whether human activity plays a role — something the vast majority of scientists in the field believe.

Does chugging down a couple administrations of Democrap leave you with that bloated feeling?

At this point it appears Jeb is aiming for Hilary’s running mate.

Does Jeb really think by spouting this idiocy, that the Democrats are going to be any nicer to him, than they were to his brother?

Duh.

Put it in context.

We have been starting wildfires, killing large fauna, deforesting for centuries. We take the climate as it comes, for we did not and do not know, how it will manifest.

Is a hot spot in the Pacific Ocean going to make it rain next year or cause a drought? What caused that spot to get so hot, anyway? We don’t know, and with only excessive hubris, do we think we know.

So, to all the “Any Republican is better than any Democrat” Kool-Aid drinkers: Tell me again, what’s the difference between Jeb and Hitlery...?

I’m convinced the “establishment” truly believes that Conservatives will fall in line at election time...rather than let another Democrat in the White House.

Sadly, they refuse to learn the lessons of history. Even “recent” history (Conservatives staying home re: Romney).

If Jeb is the candidate...for the first time in my “voting” life...I’ll stay home.

Humans contribute to climate change

And technically Democrats contribute to charity. Joe Biden contributed $369 during the past 10 years.

So you see, I am really on the fence about it.....

Where to begin? This is not merely drinking the Kool-Aid, it speaks of trying to get untold millions of others to do the same.

Said it before and will say it again - carbon dioxide is plant food. Even the most robustly exploitative consumption of carbon-based fuel will move the equation of the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere very much either way.

The atmosphere will still be some 20% of a highly corrosive gaseous element, and when it comes in contact with many carbon carbon compounds, in the presence of a spark of some kind, it will cause the ignition and combustion of most carbon compounds. The carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere will not rise very high above the current level, first of all, because of being absorbed into the bodies of surface water that cover some 70% of the surface of this planet, and secondly, because of the continuous consumption of carbon dioxide in the formation of plant material. The oxygen content of the atmosphere varies very little over the surface of the planet, and over time.

Carbon dioxide, dissolved in water, becomes a very solid rock in the presence of certain chloride salts, particularly magnesium chloride and calcium chloride. Calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate have very low solubility in water, and quickly precipitate out, forming what is commonly called “limestone”. This is sequestration which may take millions of years to release. If at all.

Quote from another commenter how the Peer Review process has long been corrupted by the Green Left.

‘’In one of the e-mails, East Anglia’s Phil Jones, long a power player in the production of these reports, said this about some scientific articles he did not like: “I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow — even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!” This is pretty serious stuff, because it, and many similar e-mails, paint a picture of IPCC boffins committing science’s capital crime: Trying to game the peer-reviewed literature, which is akin to editing what goes in the Bible. In this case, Jones is actually speculating about keeping contrary information out of the IPCC reports by blacklisting certain professional journals.’’ **Whoops
