Florida Senate hopeful Alan Grayson didn’t file his official candidacy with the Federal Election Committee by the deadline, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rep. Grayson (D) had 15 days to file the paperwork from when he announced his campaign on July 9 or after spending or receiving more than $5,000, but the FEC website does not show any filing as of Tuesday night.
The campaign told the Times that the mistake was due to a “staff error.”
Grayson’s campaign spokesman, Kevin Franck, said the form would be sent in “today.”

Deadlines and other election rules are rarely enforced against Democrat candidates.
Deadlines are for the little people.

At most, it’s a fine and even then, since Citizens United, the FEC is a joke, as well it should be.
The FL Dems don’t want him to run. They will do their best to enforce this rule.

The only purpose of the FEC is a barrier to entry to keep the riff raft out of elections.
It’s a tool of the Washington Party and certainly won’t be used against one of its own. This isn’t about Republicans and Democrats. It’s about Incumbents and Challengers.

By Riff Raff I mean me and you, i.e. “the little people”. They don’t want us getting uppity or thinking we can make a difference.
Oh, it happens. An outsider gets elected now and then. Think Sen. Cruz or the guy that sent Cantor packing.
But. The deck is stacked. The FEC is but one of the tools.
Grayson? Riff Raff or not, he’s a member of the club. Missing this deadline means nothing, probably just a warning.
