Not sure of currents in the Indian Ocean but that beach is on the Northeast side and that makes sense also. Time will tell.

Given the current direction there, this is a logical place for debris to show up. Anyway, they should find a serial number on the parts and confirm soon.

I would speculate that most parts on a commercial aircraft would have some sort of serial number on it.

No problem.

Hopefully, they can find what’s left of the plane - at the very least, the families can get some closure.

As to whether any info from the FDR or the CVR will be recoverable, I kinda doubt it.

At least the search area will be narrowed. Need a larger map including distance it may have flown

“Makes sense...the flight had turned to the left, heading in the general direction of La Reunion. Not sure of currents in the Indian Ocean but that beach is on the Northeast side and that makes sense also. Time will tell.”

From other websites, it appears to be a Flaperon from a Boeing 777. If it is “the one”, it should be easy enough to identify from serial numbers that are engraved on every aircraft part.

Also, the “Southen Equatorial Current” runs directly from the west coast of Indonesia/Malaysia, to this area, so it is plausible, as well.

Another Aviation site is saying that if it is indeed a part from MH370, they have been looking for it WAYYYY too far to the south.

This graphic shows it could've made it to Reunion or somewhere in that neck of the woods.

So it traveled west instead of south?. Do we still have map with the arch showing possible distance?

That inset covers Reunion, which is East of Madagascar. Right at the edge of available fuel
