Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to make it illegal to be in possession of high-capacity ammo magazines, likely setting up a new Second Amendment battle in the Golden State.

After passing the measure with a 12-0 vote, Councilman Paul Krekorian reportedly challenged the National Rifle Association.

hey Sivad! Looks like the Cali haters are afoot again. Sad that they don’t realize their friends, relatives, and neighbors that picked up and moved here is the reason for our present state of affairs.

Willie Brown, former head of the State Legislature, did much to establish the One Party State we now have. Where was he from?????? Texas!

Reviewing our state and federal representatives reveals that fully 1/3 are transplants from other states. My guess is that a majority of the rest are children of parents born outside of California.....us natives have been overwhelmed! You know......

Hey, now, Calibro!

Barbara Boxer......from NY
Nancy Pelosi.......from Baltimore
Mad Maxine Waters......from St Louis

They all bought into that California Dreamin’ and
go to SF w/flowers in your hair shit sung
and promoted by other non Californians. They
brought their East Coast lefty politics here
in the 60s and we suffer to this day. We see
way too many here who don’t treat us like
conservative family members. They think we are
ALL libtards. Meanwhile our conservative friends
who migrate elsewhere are looked upon as pariahs
by some FReepers, people who sometimes act like
hateful libtards.

Keep fighting the good fight, forty-niner!

Way to own it and way to
address it. Good on ya! Too
many decent Californians don’t
pay enough attention to politics.
The newspapers are all left wing and
that is common all over. But, yes,
we need a way to at least turn this
state around somewhat.

Moonbat-Moonbeam Brown is not
all that popular with everybody.
Many see him as the mean a-hole
school principal.

I hear ya. I am a Texan. I might pop off sometimes but I understand your point. We have a few enclaves of liberals here, Austin, San Antonio, most of Houston and too much of Dallas. They are the bluest of blue. Stay true, Sivad!!

People who own magazines that hold more than 10 rounds will have 60 days from the time the law goes into effect to destroy, legally sell or surrender them. Violators will face a misdemeanor charge, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Well, or store them outside city limits. Obviously, they have no jurisdiction over what you do or do not possess outside their borders.

Thanks! You too.... Lets take our state back. Maybe our nation first. That’ll make the state easier (I hope.)

You suppose there is exemptions for City Council persons, body guards, gangbangers, cops and swat. Lest I forget judges.

But at the news conference, we were told: who needs a 100-round drum magazine and fully automatic gun to defend themselves at home?

How many Americans could actually have one of those?

How many are even strong enough to manage one in the first place?

The thread article in question mentioned
“California Lawmakers” in the title when,
in fact, it is about LA County supes. Of
course the statewide legislators are no
prize either.

I reside in a rural county which is half
in the Sierra Nevada foothills and half
in the high Sierras. We have a sportsmens
club on the edge of our county seat. The club
has a max of 200 members of which I am one (another
member is General Chuck Yeager). The trap range
has 3 trap houses and voice activated launchers.
We had an ATA shoot this past weekend. We also
have a rifle and pistol range and a 5 star archery
range which is considered among the best in the West.
Besides a large outdoor BBQ shack we have a kitchen,
meeting room and a full service bar open every day
but Monday & Tuesday. We have trained member instructors
who thoroughly teach up to 120 kids from local 4H
clubs in the proper use and safety of firearms on
one Saturday each month during school. The parents
love it. I mention this to give you a flavor of
what goes on in a part of California you don’t
hear about. Thanks......and CHEERS!

Allowed, with some regulations in some states.

100-round drum??? I read that these are heavy and not reliable.

Use a batch of 30s.

But border-crossing, non-American drug and human trafficers are much more likely to have full autos.

Oh, of course...I realize...we can buy a full auto gun. But...plenty of hoops and MONEY to do it...

Here's a interesting way around those hoops and $$$
