Because you are looking at polls on real clear. Fine.
But, these same polling outfits told us Romney would win too.
The problem is the internals of the polling. VERY few polls actually poll REPUBLICAN voters...most are registered voters, adults, people who might lean Republican, etc...
In polls where Republican are polled, Cruz is in the top 4. Trump is still ahead, but Cruz is doing much better.
Besides, if Cruz was really at 4%, how did he raise so much money?

My view as well, other than I find Walker too close to the GOPe.
Ok, these “oh, well, I support Cruz first but I defend Trump things is getting old.”...so, let’s be honest for a change.
1. He did fink out of a debate because he did pitch a temper tantrum. Am I wrong? Ok, so the people insulted the Donald...he is a Republican, that is the nature of the beast. As someone else asked...if Fox or someone says something mean about him, will he NOT debate there too? What better opportunity to embarrass them then to show up...but, Trump is too “insulted” too many times. Hadn’t heard if cruz will be there or not.
2. Walkers people started it, fine. But to lie about his record in WI was not good of Trump. He knows better. Besides, is he going to go into the gutter to attack people like Walker while letting Hillary skate? Walker is definitely a contender...not sure why you think otherwise. I would argue that once people get past the loud things he is saying and LOOK at Trump’s record, they will see HE is NOT who they think he is.
3. He just said it? Where? I haven’t seen it yet? Why not say it sooner?
4. Right, but why attack McCain. Cruz can handle himself in the Senate (boy, you really sound like a Cruz person). Cruz is in the trenches ACTUALLY fighting for the people and actually suffering the consequences...Donald, not so much.
5. Amnesty...you know better than that. You are a Trump support...I can already tell this. You have the talking points down pat. Did Trump ,or did he not, Flip Flop on immigration? It isn’t a tough question...well, for those who support Trump, it is a tough question.
You and all of the “concerned” people who think Cruz won’t gain much traction are full of crap. It is early..everyone says wait for the debates. I guess, since Trump is winning, Cruz should just drop out?
I don’t dislike Donald...but we need to be honest about Donald. Too many on this site are blinded by his rhetoric...we are a Conservative website...or we were. If it comes to the generals and Trump is the nominee, will you vote for one Democrat or another Democrat?
BTW, if Cruz isn’t gaining traction, I guess he lied about the fund raising numbers too huh? LOL.
Trump has supported liberal causes in the past out of political expediency.
Why would he want to run as a conservative and be considered the representative of the most despised section of the GOP unless he really feels that he is conservative.
I ask all that consider themselves conservative first...why would this man sacrifice everything to run for President of the United States as a CONSERVATIVE and not just one more of the gope stooges? He could do any thing he wants but decides to run as a conservative!
The reason why is he knows that the only way to heal this country is through “Tough Love”, and the only way to do that is to win as a true believing god fearing, proud American conservative who is willing to step on the toes of liberals and smack the shit out of phony republicans AKA RINOS.
As long as he wants to help save this country he’s got my vote! Same goes for Cruz!

He didn’t “start” donating to Republicans. If anything, his donation to Democrats simply ceased, as of 2012.

Pointing out that as a Member of the Senate he has to be the one defending himself while getting no Support from other Elected Republican Senators has nothing to do with Trump or my feelings regarding Cruz.
He is very capable of defending himself in that Chamber and Trump would never be allowed to speak from the Well of the Senate to defend Cruz.

As I said earlier, it’s a long process and nobody knows where things will end up. We are all just airing our Opinions on something that only the Electorate will decide.
I think by early 2017 Cruz will either be attorney general or a USSC justice.
I would LOVE for Cruz to be President...

The funny part is that you have all of the talking points of the Trump people. EVERYTHING you say, including about Cruz, have been said by the Trumpers.
While you are right, Trump can’t praise Cruz from the Senate floor, for a man who has been so outspoken, you’d have thought he’d have gone on the attack against McConnell too...through his media connections. He did not. It was GLARING that he left Cruz out to dry when Cruz has constantly come to his defense.
Glad you support Cruz. Continue to do so...but you do a disservice writing him off this early.
I don’t think I am writing him off. I just hope he gets some Traction, the sooner the Better.
The irony is, it might take Trump to help Cruz’s numbers increase. Cruz is not attacking Trump because Trump is saying things that Cruz has said in the past, unfortunately without the same results in increasing Public Awareness.
The Media ignores Cruz, but they cannot ignore The Donald. People are catching on that Cruz has been fighting the same fight for a very long time.

FWIW - I think Trump needs to clarify his Walker Budget Numbers comments, since he apparently took them verbatim from another source.
I don’t know the WI Budget situation, Surplus versus Deficit, so I can’t really speak to it. I’m sure Walker will defend his Budget Numbers at the first Debate.

They are Trump talking points...his supporters use these all of the time.

You might try reading his book “Time to Get Tough”, 2011 by the way. It’s an easy read of 200 pages. That will give you a clear idea of his stand.
At this point, America is going down the drain. I don’t know if even Trump can stop it. If it can be reversed, it will take someone with a very clear understanding of what is wrong, and how to fix it. It will take someone with brilliance in economics, not a constitutional scholar or a union buster or a minister.
It’s possible that someone who changes their viewpoint in the course of 70 years has the ability to learn, unlike someone who has a closed mind and repeats endlessly inaccurate and prejudicial and insulting one-liners.
Just my opinion, of course. I’m trying very hard to see who is running and their platform and their accomplishments because this country is in real trouble. We need someone who can get elected and overcome the voter fraud the Democrats are so good at. That means overwhelming support across the spectrum; Republicans, Democrats, Independents - white, black, hispanic. And then, when elected, someone strong enough to do the job without worrying about public opinion polls and news media.
I’d normally agree with you about Trump, but he is lying to you about his positions. If you truly listen, he NEVER specifies certain positions.
But, I have heard about the book. I will buy it. Art of the Deal too.
I have a few of his and they are good reads...just not those.
I hope Cruz is surging, but The Jebster is still Polling at least 3X what Cruz’s numbers are.
