WASHINGTON – Just days after publicly calling the majority leader a liar on the Senate floor, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has upped the stakes in his war on GOP brass by accusing Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., of spearheading the effort to keep taxpayer funds going to Planned Parenthood.

In a statement that mentioned “gruesome videos of senior officials of Planned Parenthood discussing the selling of body parts of unborn children,” Cruz blasted McConnell for blocking an amendment by Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, to defund the abortion provider.

[In the end, Lee was unable to rally the support of a mere 10 Republican senators needed for the chamber to consider his amendment to defund Planned Parenthood]

Not being able to muster 10 votes to defund Planned Parenthood has an eerie comparison to the story of Abraham and Lot.

Yikes! Cruz and Lee had best leave DC and not look back.

McConnell isn't representing the party, nor Kentucky, which traditionally has much, much lower rates of abortion than most of the states out there.

McConnell should resign his leadership position.

They’d rather bow down to the GOPe linguini ‘leadership’ gods than do the right thing.
SMudge Scarecrow didn’t want to be shown up by the underling upstarts— you know, ‘the crazies’.

I think 10 innocent people was the cut-off for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Looks like Cruz’ strategy is to run against McConnell.

Not a bad one.

Run from McConnell? McConnell has a glass jaw. So does the rest of the establishment.

The more Cruz and Lee stand tall against their corruption, the higher their Q among the American public and the more protected by popular opinion they become.

I get your concern, but I’ve already seen “giants” crumble during this election cycle.

I was undecided about Cruz, but I appreciate these attacks on the GOP leadership.

They stopped representing my political views a long time ago, it just took a while for me to fully accept it.

It makes clear that the McConnell-Reid leadership team is united in favor of big government spending and debt and power.”

“united in favor...spending and debt and power”

WHY did he sidestep the MAIN ISSUE, which is they are united in the bloody slaughter of babies in the womb.

These “Republicans” have lost any credibility they ever had. I do not understand how these fools can keep being re-elected.

There are only 10 pro-lifers in the Senate, think about it. How sad is this?
