~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: Cheyenne Mountain Air Force

Station, Colorado

The

Cheyenne Mountain Complex is a military

installation and nuclear bunker located in

Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Cheyenne

Mountain Air Force Station, which hosts the

activities of several tenant units. Also

located in Colorado Springs is the Peterson

Air Force Base, where the North American

Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United

States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)

headquarters are located.

The

center for the United States Space Command

and NORAD monitored the air space of Canada

and the United States through a world-wide

system for missiles, space systems, and

foreign aircraft through its early-warning

system.

The military complex has included many units

of NORAD, U.S. Space Command, Aerospace

Defense Command (ADCOM), Air Force Systems

Command, Air Weather Service, and Federal

Emergency Management (FEMA). The complex's

communication center is also used by the

nearby U.S. Civil Defense Warning Center.

The station is open 24 hours a day.

Since

2002, the complex has been classed as

Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station and has

been used in crew qualification training,

while the former command function has been

redesignated as the "NORAD and USNORTHCOM

Alternate Command Center" since 2008 after

all the original functions of the complex

were removed to Peterson Air Force Base.

The

complex is maintained by the 721st Mission

Support Group which provides support and

maintenance for the 'NORAD/USNORTHCOM's

training, exercise and alternate command

center functions, U.S. Strategic Command's

Missile Warning Center, Detachment 2 of the

17th Test Squadron, Air Force Technical

Applications Center's research laboratory,

the Defense Intelligence Agency's Western

Continental United States Regional Service

Center.

Good evening, PRO! (((hugs)))

Good to see you, too! I was hoping at least SOMEone was getting some cool weather! I can’t believe how hot it’s been way up there! That’s unusual, yes?

No, not unusual at all.

I live in the high desert in Eastern Washington, everything east of the Cascade mountains is hot and dry in the summer.

West of the Cascades, in Seattle and down the coast, wetter and mild in summer.

I copied and pasted from home yesterday. All good.

I copied and pasted from work and it blew up. And I can’t do anything from work.

I usually put them into a Word doc and onto a thumb drive. I guess I only did the first part. Yep! The Word doc is here...but not on my thumb drive. *sigh*

Sorry, lauren....

Good evening/morning, EX...((HUGS))...the first eye was a success. When I took the tape off I was almost blinded by the bright colors!! LOL!! Right now I can close the new eye and all is muted and a brown/dull yellow tinge. Close the old eye and WOW, all the brightness.

20/40...the new eye is having to work with the old. August 13th is the left eye. The actual operation was a piece of cake. The only “pain” at all, and it was like a novocaine prick, was the shot in the eye. I never felt a single sensation during the surgery.

I’m ready for the other one.

From what I can discern from my sisters, her white count is up again...MORE antibiotics!

I may have to make a quick departure from FR, so please keep me in prayer.
