Kicking off an afternoon swing through Central Florida, Jeb Bush told a group of pastors that Christian businesses should not be compelled to participate in gay weddings and that he supports statehood for Puerto Rico and legal status but not citizenship for millions of immigrants who are now in the U.S. illegally.
On immigration reform, Bush said, We need to have a path to legal status for the 11 million people here What else would you do?
He added: The idea of self-deportation or the idea of rounding people up is not an American value.
Bush said legal status should be earned after 10 years and come after paying a fine and taxes. He said he supports this approach rather than full citizenship because I think thats where we land to get it done.

Bush wants statehood for Puerto Rico so they can get 2 new Democrat seats in the Senate.
LOL. EVERY time I see that picture I laugh hard.
That picture never gets old.
“The idea of self-deportation or the idea of rounding people up is not an American value.
Self deportation is: no free services for illegals. No jobs. So they choose to leave. How is that unAmerican?
Heb?! needs to open his palatial home to anyone who wants to come in and eat his food, watch his sat TV, order stuff from his credit cards. Once he’s done this for a month, I’d like to hear him talk about illegals squatting in our country, taking our hard earned tax money.
Please, please, God...have mercy on us and dont let this racist, anti-American man become our next President.
Save your prayers for healing your family members who are sick. This one is taken care of by us here on earth. We are all ready for Hillary the Known Murderer and Liar over Heb!?!
How can you be president if you don't know how many illegals are in America.
Oh that 11,000,000 are the ones we have caught and are in prison.
I have never witnesses such self destruction ideas by a republican candidate. Kissinger referred to it in one of his books as “National Masochism” . You can’t dream up worse national poicy than bush espouses. He is a slave to the politically correct Rockefeller left wing of our conservative party. No more bushes.
It was, in 1942.
There’s also the de-moralization (emphasis away from morality) of the country to consider. Other than the children of FReepers and friends of same, the younger of this country are steadily moving away from any kind of moral center derived from spiritual belief. Any kind of morality left is of two kinds: “moralism”, morality for its own sake, or morality that can be derived from simple reasoning alone.
This is why we see so much support for “gay marriage” in the youth today. Objections to it are centrally based in spiritual morality (although a reasoned case can be made from logic and history alone, it’s a rather complex task so is often overlooked in the soundbyte culture)
Also why there is an uptick in the objection to abortion among the tech savvy young. They have seen the ultrasound pictures for themselves. Not much rationalization can stand up to the power of a baby picture. (These are most likely represented by the two lovely ladies unthread supporting Jeb. That, and they are probably “dreamers”)
Also why some seem to be supporting Trump. He’s using social media more than his competitors; that resonates with the younger crowd.
Bottom line: the departure from faith as a central part of one’s life is a direct cause of all of this. It’s why we will never get back on track as a society if we don’t get back on track with God. The winds of society change direction too quickly to be a guiding force for good.
I agree with your premise there.
It’s still a pretty big stretch to pick up a gun and go spray a theater or some other public event just because you are unhappy.
Nobody is serious about statehood for Puerto Rico. Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes all said they were in favor because the GOP affiliate on the island, the New Progressive Party, is the pro-statehood party, but nobody really pushed for statehood. Even though Puerto Rico doesn't vote in the presidential election, they have delegates in the political conventions, and nobody wants to antagonize them.
Who’s Jeb Bush?
And, of course, Jeb, people who broke our laws by breaking into our country are going to come forward to pay a fine. Yeah, right.
+1
You have to admire the girls for getting involved....
&&&
Well, I don’t since one of them is holding a sign in Spanish. I wonder if she is an illegal.
I don’t disagree with that.
I suspect they had the signs prepared and the girls picked them up on the way in. Maybe not....
They’re clean cut and trying to do the right thing. I know they’re problematic just being there for Bush.
Bush`s Maid Deported (Jeb and Columba Flashback 1991)
While presidential scion Jeb Bush was out jogging last week, Miami immigration officials deported his maid to her native Honduras.

I’ve no problems with statehood for Puerto Rico. They are already citizens. Let them have full rights and responsibilities or move along.
Statehood for this crap hole?
