"Clearly I'm not asking people to vote for me simply because I'm a woman," presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said in West Columbia, South Carolina on Thursday. "I'm asking people to vote for me on the merits. And I think one of the merits is I am a woman and I can bring those views and perspectives to the White House."

Is she still a woman? I thought she was of ambiguous gender?
Why not?
The days we elect people to Office because they’ve actually accomplished anything are over.
polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, over-confident, secretive, will do anything to win, represents the past, and out of touch.
How does one earn merit for being a woman? Pantsuit is the worst candidate ever.
She clearly isn’t asking, but only because it wouldn’t go down well if she did. However, there is a clear if unspoken message with regards to her gender. Certainly her supporters make very much of the fact that she is a woman, and if elected would be the first female president.
She is a pant load isn’t she?
It really is a tough argument.
On your best day you could not lick Lady Thatcher's shoes clean, strictly a legend in your own mind.

“Don’t you want to see more women running for mayor and governor who will put our families first?
Don’t you want to see more women running for Congress who will follow in the footsteps of Barbara Mikulski and champion equal pay and equal opportunity?”
“And I suppose it’s only fair to say, don’t you someday want to see a woman president of the United States of America? Well?”
No, it’s because of your vast experience and gleaming credentials.
As clever as these people are supposed to be, you’d think she would be able to come up with something better than that.
Clearly.
“I’m asking people to vote for me on the merits. And I think one of the merits is I am a woman and I can bring those views and perspectives to the White House.”
“...one of the merits is I am a woman...”
Doesn’t that contradict the headline? It is the most stupid claim for a candidate for the presidency ever made in history. Now, Hillary, reel off some real merits you possess. Just one will be comforting.
Yes, Hilda, you are.
Classic Clintonian Obfuscation.
Of course you are...The only reason the Dems let you keep going is because they want to see if you CAN pull in the womens vote. Clearly...she’s not going to pull in anyones vote. But she did manage to raise a lot of money and you know the party is going to take a good piece of that.
Named after Sir Edmond Hillary who "climbed mount Everest" years AFTER she was born. She's been a Hildebeast ever since she left the REPUBLICAN party.
Instead of her trying to earn the vag-vote maybe she should try the cankle-vote instead!
