Surveillance video shows Bouchard s owner shooting at burglars Surveillance video shows a Milwaukee man defending his store against a brazen break-in by would-be burglars. MORE BURGLARS SMASH VAN INTO SPORTING GOODS STORE ONLY TO FIND...
Thieves drove a van into the Bouchard's Sporting Goods store early Friday morning, but they met some unexpected resistance. MORE REWARD OFFERED IN BOUCHARD'S ROBBERY, SHOOTING
A reward is being offered for information about an armed robbery and shooting on Nov. 18. MORE The owner of the store found out Wednesday he won't be charged in the shooting.
The attorney for Bouchard's owner told WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino his client had every right to defend himself after three men with guns broke into his store.
"The persons who tried to break into his store that night not only intended to steal but intended to kill him, attorney John Schiro said.
He said the video clearly illustrates how the men rammed the back of a stolen minivan into concrete posts blocking the entrance. Then, the men jumped out and tried to squeeze through the opening of the gate.

"When Mr. Murrar saw these fellows, he immediately, because he saw they were armed, and that they saw him, and they were really making eye contact like 'Are you really going to come in?' He momentarily didn't realize that his pistol was right there. He went into the back room and got the rifle that he used, Schiro said.

An armed citizen is a safe citizen.
Ventilated miscreant.
I know the lawyer is saying what he has to say, but the wise man does not bring a pistol to a firefight when a rifle or shotgun is handy. I think he may have known damn good and well that handgun was there.
Good on him, regardless.
8 months later he finds out he wont be charged ? an 8 month wait ? are they flippin nuts ?
They made sure he was being punished by having to keep his lawyer fed.
And the city had to have workers on overtime cleaning up the thug sh!t from the sidewalk in front of Bouchard’s.
All three of these animals should be shot to death.
We shouldn’t be providing healthcare. They all need to be immediately killed.
Good for him!! Dirtbags getting what they disserve!!!
Needed a red dot on the AR but job well done.
Two things stand out in this article as I read it. First of all, I am delighted that this female ABC affiliate reporter got the headline right and the article was well written in favor of the store owner and his actions. The second thing that stood out was that the store was located on Martin Luther King drive, probably not the best location for a business of this kind, IMHO.
I’d have liked seeing their faces when that rifle opened up.
Milwaukee store owner will not be chaarged for defending his store from burglars with a gun.
FReep Mail me if youw ant on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Don’t understand. You see and hear them backing the vehicle into the door and your’re not running to the front to get better position (i.e. lying down on the floor near the front) to make SURE you kill them? I would have had a different strategy, but would probably have ended up dead.
He looks more like Hadji spraying his Sunni neighbors than a trained marksman, which I assume if you're selling weapons you'd have some training and experience.
He did it exactly right. He stayed behind cover, and maintained distance.
Maintaining distance is important in a rifle-vs-pistol fight. At 15 yards (my estimate from the video) a rifleman can reliably hit a thug, while a non-trained thug with a pistol is unlikely to hit him.
I disagree. Looking at the video, he has the rifle up to his shoulder and appears to be using the sights. Plus he DID hit one of the thugs from across the store, which he would not have if he was not using his sights.
Watch the store owner get investigated.
OUTSTANDING !!
Follow the blood trail.......
Oh, right. I was hoping he could close the distance and fill them full of lead. Watching them running and crawling away was heartbreaking. Thanks for the correct advice.
