Top Scott Walker Fundraiser Calls Donald Trump ‘DumbDumb’
Wall Street Journal ^ | July 24, 2015 | Reid J. Epstein

Posted on 07/24/2015 2:55:13 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

A fundraiser for Scott Walker’s presidential campaign called Donald Trump “DumbDumb” in a fundraising invitation and said electing the New York developer would be “a total and complete disaster for the country.”

“As you’ve seen Gov Walker is now well ahead of everyone not named DumbDumb (aka Trump) in the national polls,” wrote Walker fundraiser Gregory Slayton, a New Hampshire venture capitalist who served as consul general to Bermuda during the George W. Bush administration.....

[SNIP]

Mr. Slayton added: “To elect someone who alienates his friends, the guy would be a total and complete disaster for the country and I think everybody admits that.”

Mr. Slayton’s characterization of Mr. Trump as “DumbDumb” comes after his candidate has spent recent weeks carefully avoiding criticizing the New York developer’s incendiary language about Mexican immigrants. The Wisconsin governor did denounce Mr. Trump’s suggestion that Sen. John McCain, who served five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, was not a war hero.

Mr. Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, predicted Mr. Walker will not stand for his supporters questioning Mr. Trump’s intellect.

“Gov. Walker is a good guy and he would not condone such type of negative thinking about the leading presidential candidate in the GOP field,” Mr. Lewandowski said. “I’m sure he will quickly denounce Mr. Slayton and his rhetoric.”

The Walker campaign didn’t comment on Mr. Slayton’s remarks.

Crowded Field of Dreams".......[BIG SNIP]........ before [Trump's] recent conversion, the views he expressed over the years would make him a mainstream Democrat. This is the great irony of the current moment in American political life: The man leading the primary of a party whose recent success owes largely to a shift rightward has never really been a Republican.

Trump described himself as “very liberal on health care” and was an advocate of a single-payer health insurance system, a view that puts him to the left of Barack Obama. He long considered himself “very pro-choice” and was in favor of drug legalization. Trump once called Mitt Romney’s self-deportation proposal “crazy” and “maniacal.” Trump said Obama’s $787 billion stimulus was “what we need” and added, “It looks like we have somebody that knows what he is doing finally in office.”

As those comments suggest, Trump didn’t think George W. Bush did a very good job in office. But he didn’t stop there. Trump said Bush was “evil.”

Trump’s financial support for Democrats over the years has been well documented, with checks to Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, and others. That’s no surprise, since he said in 2004, “I identify more as a Democrat.” He praised Nancy Pelosi as “the best” when she became speaker of the House in 2007. That same year, he said of a prospective Hillary Clinton in the White House: “I think Hillary would do a good job.”

To put it mildly, Trump is an uncomfortable fit in the Republican party. And that’s why he is unlikely to be there at the end of this process.

.....Trump’s political activism has its roots in the Reform party movement of the late 1990s. He flirted with a presidential bid in 1999 on the Reform party ticket. He has in recent days repeatedly declared his openness to running as an independent candidate in 2016.....

Does the fund raiser know that Walker had a 2.59 grade point average at Marquette? I’m reasonably certain that Trump was at least A’s and B’s in college and it is certainly well documented that he is a business genius.

This is not a smart move on the part of those working his campaign, just as it was not smart for Walker to make critical remarks about Trump earlier in the week.

Have a look at the photos and comments ridiculing veterans in this thread. And bear in mind that the Korean War vet being ridiculed is 82 years old and in a hospice.

Care for a transcript? Did it myself. And have a look at this--a little laugh for you.

Trump just blamed 2008 financial crisis on Republicans, said Democrats wouldn’t have done that
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFR9UZ42vtQ

Interviewer:
"You have said in that past, that you probably identify more as a Democrat, and you've said that in your view, the economy does better under the Democrats...Why, then, are you running as a Republican?"

Donald Trump [Excerpts]:
"When the economy crashed so horribly under George Bush, because of mistakes they made having to do with banking and lots of other things, I don't think the Democrats would have done that...and that was a Republican thing, now would a Democrat have done those same things, possibly, but, ah, ee, ay, an I,...I have seen things done by Republicans that are not good, and not smart. And I wouldn't do that."

Couple more comments like this and Trump will have about a 60% rating among Independents and Conservative voters.

Well it’s a lot more complicated than that. Part of it certainly goes back to Clinton and the loosening of regulations pushing home ownership and the repeal of Glass-Stegall. So I guess you can blame both parties.

So sorry Donald, the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans.

Thankfully, the stupid remarks were made by a virtual nobody.

I like Cruz, Walker and Trump.

No need for those three to get into personal fights.
