(CNSNews.com) – Four out of a sample of just 40 emails that were on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s personal email server “included IC-derived classified information,” according to a memorandum that L. Charles McCullough, III, the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, sent yesterday to the chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees and to DNI James Clapper.

Additionally, McCullough said, “we were informed by State FOIA officials that there are potentially hundreds of classified emails within the approximately 30,000 provided by former Secretary Clinton” and that these 30,00 emails “are purported to have been copied to a thumb drive in the possession of former Secretary Clinton’s personal counsel, Williams and Connelly attorney David Kendall.”

“Since the referenced 25 June 2015 notification, we were informed by State FOIA officials that there are potentially hundreds of classified emails within the approximately 30,000 provided by former Secretary Clinton,” the IG informed the intelligence chairmen and the DNI.

“We note that none of the emails we reviewed had classification or dissemination markings, but some included IC-derived classified information and should have been handled as classified, appropriately marked, and transmitted via a secure network,” the IG said.

It is interesting that she had those e-mails on a thumb drive and yet had them printed out in the form of 120 reams of paper and delivered them to the State Department as such.

Intelligence Community, I think. If she isn’t intelligent enough to recognize classified material when she sees it, she isn’t smart enough to be President.

Gosh. I remember those briefings about security where they told us how many people were in Leavenworth because of security missteps.

Didn’t she get that briefing?

Oh, that’s right. It’s Hillary. She’s too stupid to remember.

It will be interesting to see if attorney client privilege will trump national security. Didn’t Scooter Libby go to jail for something like this? In a real world Hillary would be pulling out of the race, but she is counting on her sleazy lawyers and an adoring press to keep in the running. While she may avoid prosecution, it should be painfully obvious to Democrats that she is damaged goods. The dilemma for Democrats is if not Hillary then who. Bernie the Red may be wowing the party leftists, but will the American people really cast their vote for a Communist as president?

All we have to do is send a Congressional delegation to China and ask for copies.

Regardless of the classification level, Secretary level correspondence is, by law, supposed to be archived. Giving it to your lawyer doesn’t make it protected. Additionally, giving classified material, or accepting classified is also a crime.

Security breaches all over the place. The lawyer isn’t cleared; he shouldn’t be in possession of the thumb drive. Hell....thumb drives are usually not permitted in the building where classified servers are.
Only one of those violations, even an accidental “data spill” would be enough to get my butt reamed, a warning, possibly losing my clearance (depending on the seriousness of the breach) and possibly losing my job.

If these emails were used in her capacity as SOS, aren’t these e-mails the property of the US Government?

Possession is 9/10ths of the law.

"but will the American people really cast their vote for a Communist as president?"

They've already done so twice.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t they looking at paper printouts of the emails.

“The classification marking was in red ink...my red ink cartridge ran out...what difference, at this point, does it make!”

This is why the investigative authority of the IGs is being restricted.

Another Inspector General is in another news story today:

“Inspector General: New Obama Policy Diminishes Govt Watchdogs”

Inspectors general will have to get permission from the agencies they scrutinize to gain access to wiretaps, grand jury, and credit information under new rules introduced by the Obama administration, according to The Washington Post.

The 58-page ruling was issued by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, according to the Post.

The inspector general for the Justice Department said the ruling will undermine his ability to carry out his responsibilities for pursuing fraud and corruption within the government.”

Reading this, I know I wouldn’t want to be fooling with these people. Federal Prosecutors have real good prosecution records, this is not an FP but all the same, I don’t think this looks good though it could well drag out for some time, next summer or so.

The authors of the article should have glossed the term “IC”.

Gary Aldrich warned us. William Clinton could not have gotten a security clearance to empty waste bins at the Pentagon.

I’d say he should also be careful where and what he eats, don’t accept any invitations from close friends, don’t stand on plastic drop cloths, and if Hillary invites him over to make him a Made Man, I’d catch the next plane for North Korea. He’ll live longer.

"I remember those briefings about security where they told us how many people were in Leavenworth because of security missteps."

~~~~~~~~~~~
Yep. The "20-20 club"... (20 years plus $20K fine -- for starters...).
My family is still guessing what the actual "nature of my mission" was -- for several years back in the 60's.
Unless it is publicly declassified and publicized by the USG, they will remain ignorant beyond my death...
IMO, it would be not only traitorously disloyal and criminal, but cruel, to burden them with the info and the associated responsibility...
Instead, she’s on a pair of bar stools.
