Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in a blistering floor speech Friday accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) of lying to him over a deal to vote on reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank.

Cruz speaks well but you have to admit he has accomplished zip as a political leader. He is a brilliant, brilliant lawyer, which is a very impressive and useful talent to have. He should stick to what he is good at though.
Cruz has few friends in the beltway. The Dems hate him, the GOPe hate him, the MSM hate him... Cruz needs our support in the utmost way.
I was so mad at Cruz for this vote that I lost some of my confidence in him.
Maria Cantwell is using McConnell on this vote because she needs cover from her own constituents for supporting a coal terminal in WA State that needs the export import bank to sell sun/bituminous coal to Asia. The coal is so worthless that the producers want tax payers to pay Asian countries to take the product off our hands. Sub-bituminous coal is literally cheaper than dirt. All of the expense is in the transport and handling. PattyMurray ‘s husband is a member of the ILWU and was a lifetime employee of the company that is building the terminal. Warren Buffet owns the rail road that moves the coal. Maria Cantwell has facilitated the project from the start, against the will of her own Democrat Constituency.
Cruz gave McConnell ‘the benefit of the doubt’, even though his staff warned against it?
Cruz then cast his votes based on lies, lies which seemingly everyone else knew were lies.
Cruz does not currently posses the wisdom to make the right decisions which are needed to be a good President.
Trump endorsed McConnell for "speaker" of the senate.
A constitutional expert? He lacks the knowledge of the average 8th grader.

Us peons warned him too. My opinion of Cruz will improve if he continues to go after the GOPe on a daily basis. He might make a good VP for Donald. Cruz could learn something from the Donald.

I cannot believe that Cruz is getting excoriated by some here for giving the GOP Majority Leader the benefit of the doubt after he says in front of witnesses that he will do something. Good luck finding someone who is perfect.
You’ve never been burned by a guy that you are suspicious of but have to work with to get stuff done?
Everybody else in the GOP just keeps going along with it. Cruz is saying, “He lied to me - I won’t let that happen again.”
Why is that bad?
I still think Trump/Cruz should form an Independent Conservative Party ‘NOW’ to get the ball rolling. We all know Trump or Cruz won’t get the nomination, the system is stacked against them.
To wait until after the primary will be too late.
But he's not in leadership. He's been ostracized. As far as I can tell, as of now the only leadership positions Cruz holds is:

As a junior Senator, you kind of have to give the party leader a chance - until you get stabbed in the back. A foreign leader - especially a hostile and/or antagonistic one - doesn't get that "one time" courtesy.
Getting on committees has a lot to do with seniority. Cruz was elected Senator in 2012.
You miss the “big picture.”

So I have to ask, who do you support?
He isn’t in leadership and yes indeed he is being ostracized, but is not symptomatic of being a great leader.
