Review: Gustave Caillebotte at the National Gallery U.S. CRIMINAL JUSTICE Sheriff Says Sandra Bland Told Jailer of a Previous Suicide Attempt Tanya Basu @mstanyabasu 5:14 PM ET

Bland indicated she had attempted suicide at least once in the past year

Sandra Bland—the African-American woman whose mysterious and sudden death in a Waller County, Tex. jail last week after a traffic stop has incited controversy—told jailers that she had previously attempted suicide, according to information from a closed meeting with Waller County officials on Tuesday.

On a form, Bland indicated that she had attempted suicide over the past year, apparently due to the loss of a baby. At the time of her arrest, however, Bland indicated that she did not feel suicidal. Her mental history remains “a little bit fuzzy,” Rep. Sylvester Turner told The Houston Chronicle.

If you watched the video, Officer Friendly pulled a U-ey and zoomed up behind her.

He was trying to make her do what she did, so he could stop her.

I think he was trolling for college cuties on campus.

But we do live in a police state. That is why you comply and so would I.

Full video of Sandra Bland arrest
http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-sandra-bland-arrest-video-20150721-embeddedvideo.html

The officer spun a U-ey, and zoomed up behind her. When she reacted as she was supposed to (pulling over to the slow lane in a double lane road), he tagged her for "failure to signal". He was just going to give her a warning (I believe he was trolling for college chicks - on campus, but NOT a campus cop), but he started the trouble by asking her if something was wrong.

She just told him what he had done, then he smelled "attitude". So he went further and told her to put out her smoke, in her own car.

He was EXACTLY what she called him, and chicken excrement, too.

She wasn't getting a ticket - she was getting a warning.

Of course, the officer didn't get to the point of giving her the "warning" gift, but somehow felt the need to solicit her thoughts on why she might be upset.

Her thoughts were legitimate thoughts, if you listen to her reasoning, then go back and view the beginning of the full video.

He spun a U-ey, then zoomed up behind her like he was on the way to a call. They got to a place in the road where there were two lanes in their direction, so she got in the slower lane, like you're supposed to. Of course, probably anxious, she forgot to signal.

Then he popped her, probably exactly as he planned.

He was a Texas state trooper. Why was he cruising campus, and pulling over girlies?

Go watch the video again. He pulled over a college cutie just before he pulled her over.

He pulls a U-ey after the first traffic stop, then zooms up on her tail.

She gets out of his way when they come to a double lane section of road, but fails to signal (probably nerves, like any of us).

Then, he pops her. I submit that was his plan all along.

I watched it several times and I thought the at she was the gray sedan that rolled the stop sign without signalling right where he was at.

Oh, so you submit he was racially profiling?

The Supreme Court has ruled that they don’t care what the officer was thinking prior to the stop, only that there was a violation. There was.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she rolled the stop sign.

Oh, so you submit he was racially profiling?

No, he was gender profiling. Sweet youth thangs of the opposite sex on campus - 30-year-old officer.

Watch the full video at the LA Slimes.

His whole act was chickenpoopy.

I sure don’t doubt you, but I don’t find that she was on a college campus when she was arrested.

The only thing I have heard or read is “rural road in Waller County”. If you have other info I would be interested. NOT published in an LA newspaper.

As I have said, there was fault on both sides during her arrest. She was an activist...he was over zealous. Why she hung herself I have no idea.

I watched and listened ... and so forth ... like ... the whole way through and so forth .... and it was like ..... no .... I didn't actually SEE a violation and so forth, but .... I DID pull her over and .... she was was like all excited and so forth and I was like trying to calm her down and so forth, and ....

He walks like a pussy and all the chatter recorded was CYA and who ever he was talking to was trying to help him word his complaint, but there wasn't much of a complaint to begin with and so forth and ...

The city kitties or campus cops are complicit in whatever trial the cop goes through that loses his job and jails him for involuntary manslaughter (or something)

I KNEW there had to be more to the video than what was first posted ..... thanx kiryandil

If you view the COMPLETE video at the LA Times page, you'll see that the officer appears to be trolling for college cuties on-campus. He gets done with pulling one little queenie over on-campus, and then he follows Bland on-campus, and then off-campus for about a block before he pops the light on her.

I guess Campus Safety must be "overwhelmed" with all the law-breaking going on in the metropolis of Prairie View (Bugtussle)...

You can pick your battles. You can argue with him. He can assert his, which includes the right to detain, arrests, etc.

I find wisdom in fighting unlawful arrests in court, not with the arresting officers.

I haven’t seen any videos where fighting with the cop on the scene ever was to the advantage of the one being stopped.

Point well taken, but....where does it go from here? Will cops just stop you on the street and ask for ID? Will they say that you look like someone they’re looking for and want to know where you’ve been and with who...when you’re totally innocent. Do we need to submit to these guys for no reason?
Where does the madness stop?

I submit that cops need to undergo psychological testing on a routine basis..we need to know about their home lives, their credit and all things formerly personal in their lives.

I control myself.

I don’t justify bad behavior on my part by possible bad behavior by others. Not even after they demonstrate it. They don’t control me or set my standards.

Don’t cops have bigger fish to fry than pulling over people for not using their signals? I’m starting to understand why minorities are afraid of these guys

Are you suggesting that whenever we get lawfully pulled over, we should just mouth off, resist lawful orders and the cops should just back away and say "sorry, I can see you're mad, you're free to go"?

"She certainly mouthed off enough.'

The video shows a polite cop giving a warning in one stop, then trying to give another warning during the stop in question despite obvious provocation efforts by the "black lives matter activist". He finally snapped and she got what she wanted.

You shouldn’t get lawfully pulled over unless you’re breaking the law....and then you should just eat your peas. I grew up in the 60’s and hated the pigs. Then I grew up in the 70’s and stopped smoking pot and respected the cops. In the 80’s I went to police fund raisers and donated to their charities and for Sheriff’s funds, etc. and knew the local cops, even having them over to the house for dinners. Lately I see the cops in a less favorable light, that’s all.

Lately I see the cops in a less favorable light, that’s all.

Why? Because of the bs the blacklivesmatter crowd is putting out there? Did Michael Brown resist arrest or was he murdered by a cop? How did Freddie Gray die... do we even know any details yet?

Do you think Zimmerman murdered little Trayvon simply because he was black?

So far, the blacklivesmatter agitators haven't come up with one case that has actually panned out after the evidence has all been presented.

Getting arrested for mouthing off to a cop during a routine traffic stop is something that could happen to anyone at all... and I don't blame the cops for arresting this woman. What happened after that is still yet to be determined... when we get some FACTS.
