Thousands of desperate migrants are camping out on roundabouts amid squalid camps overflowing with rubbish on the Greek holiday islands of Lesbos and Kos. Around 5,000 people have arrived in Lesbos in the past few days and many are forced to sleep outside amid broken glass and piles of rubble without access to water, shelter, toilets or medical care. Shocking images taken at the official Moria camp near the main town of Mitlini show filthy and overflowing latrines strewn with discarded plastic bottles and tents perched next to piles of rubbish.

My one and only question is are these poor people Greek citizens or citizens of whatever country in which they happen to land? If not, they can go home.
They are from Iraq/Syria, AfPak and Africa.

Concur. If the conditions are as described, the group should self-organize and clean up the area. Maybe they would then be more welcomed into the gaining society.
It would be far cheaper and less disruptive considering that Somalia has a climate not so different than California with a population density similar to Colorado.

Tents, running water, food, new clothing... And they can’t pick up their own garbage. No one is forcing them to stay.
