Trump’s success annoys GOP

Republican insiders are reconciling themselves to the idea that Donald Trump won’t be exiting the stage anytime soon — and their main concern now is limiting his damage to their party.

The GOP establishment is almost universally hostile to Trump, who has soared in the 2016 polls on the back of his celebrity, his outspoken statements on immigration and trade deals, and media coverage of his antics.

Many party strategists believe Trump did himself serious damage with his recent remarks denigrating Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) experiences while a prisoner of war in Hanoi, Vietnam — but there is not yet conclusive polling evidence available.

Meanwhile, Trump has made clear that he has no serious intention of reining in his rhetoric — or curbing his propensity to tweak the nose of anyone who displeases him. On Tuesday, shortly after fellow White House contender Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) had referred to the businessman as a “jackass,” Trump read out Graham’s cellphone number on live television during a campaign event in the senator’s home state.

During that appearance, Trump also called Graham “a stiff” and an "idiot,” and took shots at another critic and 2016 hopeful, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, saying he’d begun wearing glasses to make himself look smarter.

And now DT is headed to the Texan border. Invited by the BP who work the worse area. They wish to honor him for bringing their situation forward.

Well any Republican that can annoy the establishment country club GOP deserves a listen in my opinion.

This may be for another thread but
McCain was AWOL when Sgt. Tahmooressi was rotting in a Mexican jail.
Who was on Greta OFTEN talking about Sgt. Tahmoooressi? Donald Trump
Who gave Sgt. Tahmooressi $25k to get back on his feet?
Donald Trump
Who showed up for the photo ops after the fact?
John McCain

If Trump were smart, he would now ignore his Republican opponents and center his fire on Obama, Clinton and Sanders. Obama should be relentlessly criticized for not securing the border and his refusal to deport convicted alien felons. Clinton should be reminded of her corruption while holding high office. She laundered bribes through her phony foundation and Bill’s highly paid boring speeches. Sanders has to be held accountable for his lifelong dedication to the brutal dead hand of communism and his bizarre socialist ideation. If he does that , he will secure the Republican nomination.

“and their main concern now is limiting his damage to their party”

I am guessing what they call damage is what many would call progress.

One of the nostrums making the rounds is that some other GOP candidate will pick up Trump’s backers after Trump crashes and burns (assuming, of course, such an event happens).

With the possible exception of Cruz, I don’t know that that’s a given. More than likely, Trump supporters will stay at home given the rush by the RINOs to demonize their guy for saying what needs to be said.

I don't know how to make the link to the instagram pic active, but Trump is now mocking Perry for seeking donations. Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 3m3 minutes ago @GovernorPerry in my office last cycle playing nice and begging for my support and money. Hypocrite! https://instagram.com/p/5cPvgnmhdo/?taken-by=realdonaldtrump …

It’s not Trump damaging the party. They can’t even figure THAT much out.

So Trump says what's on his mind, punches the bullies (right & left) where it hurts whenever they bully, agrees with many positions of conservatives (and non-socialists) on critical issues ... and the main concern of the GOP is "limiting his damage to their party".

This says all you need to know about the GOPE/RINO-run Duplicitous Party.

Which annoys the GOPe political class even more. The great unwashed aren't falling in line to condemn Trump.

“Trump's success annoys the GOP.”

Paraphrasing Rhet Butler, the GOPe needs to be annoyed more often, and by a man who knows how.

The GOPe is out of touch with their base and they are upset with Trump because of that. Sad, sorry wad of corruption they are.
