Poll: Most Hispanic Voters Don’t Think A Path To Citizenship Is Solution
The Daily Caller ^ | 18 Jul 2015 | Rachel Stoltzfoos

More than 60 percent of registered Hispanic voters do not think a pathway to citizenship for illegals would benefit the country, and most do not see it as the best way to solve the country’s immigration problems, a new poll shows.

Of the 62 percent who felt a pathway to citizenship for illegals would not benefit the country, 33 percent felt it would hurt the economy, 7 percent felt it would overly burden public schools and 10 percent felt it would create public safety issues, the McKeon & Associates Wednesday poll found.

“The economy is still the issue,” Michael McKeon told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “When 33 percent think immigration will hurt the economy, that’s what’s on their mind.”

“It’s going to be very interesting to see if Republicans choose people with government experience to create jobs, or people like Trump who did it in the private sector,” he added.

Only 38 percent said a pathway to citizenship would benefit the country, and 55 percent said it is not the best way to solve the illegal immigration problem.

“The overall population may have other opinions, but these are the people who are actually going to vote,” Michael Mckeon told TheDCNF.

Asked which plan they would support to help solve the problem, 26 percent said “no immigration until the border secure,” and 29 percent said illegals should be allowed to stay and work, but should not be granted a pathway to citizenship. One percent did not respond.

The poll found strong partisan support for the passage of federal legislation that would require an illegal alien with felony convictions arrested in a sanctuary city to stand trial for entering the country illegally and if convicted be imprisoned for at least five years................Not what we hear from the MSM and the DemocRats.

I’ve been saying for years that hispanic citizens do not want their country flooded with foreigners anymore than any other citizen.

The Ministry Of Propaganda and the GOP have been engaging in a disinformation campaign to convince the citizens that we must abandon the rule of law and surrender our country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
They have been trying to paint as racist anyone who values their citizenship, the rule of law and national sovereignty.

Lies.
All lies.

Our “immigration problem” is a government that refuses to enforce the law and entices foreigners to violate the law.

Gee, ya think maybe Latino voters care mostly about issues the rest of us do:

Jobs
Economy
Crime
Family
Education
Defense/Security

“Voters” is the key word there.

When they interview illegal aliens the results are skewed.

But liberals think illegal aliens should be voters anyway and are busy trying to register as many of them as they can before the next election.

Then they will either drive them to the polls, or just have the precinct workers fill out their ballots for them.

I know a man from Nicaragua. He worked hard for his green card. He got married while in the process and was forced to start all over again from zero. He’s the hardest working man I know. He has a lovely family and his kids are as American (in the best sense) as any.

He is very angry about illegals. He’s pissed at the government for allowing them; for enabling them to break the rules. When I asked why he turned red and got spitting mad. Unfortunately, he lapsed almost entirely into Spanish. What I gathered as to the source of his anger is, one they are direct competition. Two, they commit lots of crimes against other Latinos. We hardly hear about them as most crimes are not reported. He can’t even look a cop in the face as he’s terrified of men in uniform. So, they get robbed, raped and beaten and nobody outside the family ever hears about it. Picture living with the schoolyard bully down the street.

And how many illegal aliens will accept amnesty? Many have been in the States for decades and they never applied for citizenship?

To them, it might be “why bother?” Nothing will change except that they might pay more taxes and it will be more expensive for a company to hire them.

I am betting that few will accept the deal.

Maybe the press should just refrain from classifying groups of people into invented racial groups like "Hispanics".
Why should a person from Columbia automatically think the same way as person from El Salvador?

Here we go again. Accepting the lefts premise that the reason there are illegal aliens is because there is no path to legal citizenship. We then start the argument from a losing position. There is a path to legal immigration, most just aren’t willing to wait their turn in line.

Deport illegal workers after a six month stint constructing the border wall and treat the property of those who hired them like the civil asset forfeitures on the side of the road.

Then deport those who hired them to the same place, since family values don’t stop at the border.

The tiny nation of Israel completed 500 miles of border wall in a couple of years over terrain as rugged as any on our southern border, and terror attacks in Israel dropped by 90%. However, the US building a 2,200 mile long effective border wall is “impossible”, with the US having 30 times the population and resources?

If they can’t stay employed at 125% over the poverty line for there family and if they touch an American dollar in any way through any family member for many years then they should of course be booted out.

Its so bad that a Democrat Congress passed a law making it OK for illegals to have participated in document fraud which is a felony. If an American does that even once it is jail, but not for illegals. That serves the country how?

Exactly. Anybody who says it's "impossible" is really saying, "I don't want to." We put men on the moon. We can build a d*** fence.

Wait, so Eva Longoria doesn’t speak for all Hispanic voters? So why was she elected ... er, never mind.

In Florida most Hispanic citizens are Republicans, good neighbors and great citizens. They're not backing illegals...

Why on Earth would they want to be citizens?

They get the generous welfare state, don’t pay taxes and don’t go to war.

We even let them vote!

They don’t need to be citizens.
They just need a law saying we won’t kick them out. :)

Re: “I’ve been saying for years that Hispanic citizens do not want their country flooded with foreigners anymore than any other citizen.”

So why did 79% of the Hispanics who participated in this poll vote to reelect Obama in 2012?

Obama has done NOTHING to secure the border.

Obama has ALWAYS supported a pathway to citizenship for the 12 million illegals.

Obama has ALWAYS supported our current policy of 1 million guest worker visas.

And, Obama has NEVER supported a reduction in LEGAL immigration (more than 1 million per year) or a reduction in new citizens (more than 750,000 per year).

Mitt Romney's immigration policy in 2012 was completely in line with a majority of the Hispanic voters who participated in this poll, but only 21% of them supported Romney 2012.

I think this poll simply reflects the sudden POLITICAL anxiety of the Hispanic community about well publicized immigrant crimes, and about the well publicized impact of massive immigration on wages and jobs for home grown Americans.

Most of the Hispanics in this poll are suddenly in favor of the completely bogus Republican policy of “securing our borders” and “no path citizenship.”

But in 2016, 70% of Hispanics will still support the Democrat nominee.

Re: “In Florida most Hispanic citizens are Republicans, good neighbors and great citizens. They're not backing illegals...”

Sorry, that's not correct.

60% of Florida Hispanics voted to reelect Obama in 2012.

Only 39% supported Romney.

http://elections.nbcnews.com/ns/politics/2012/florida/president/#exitPoll

The only Republican “Hispanics” in Florida are the Cubans who fled Castro in the 1950’s and 1960’s. And that group is mostly European, not Hispanic.

The Cubans who started arriving in 1979 are definitely Hispanic, and they vote overwhelmingly for the Democrat Party, as do the Puerto Ricans, and the South Americans.

The “First Wave” of Cubans, and their children and grandchildren, probably make up less than 35% of the Hispanics who now live in Florida.

This is the third poll of legal Hispanics that I have seen on the subject of amnesty/pathway-to-citizenshiip.

All three have reported 2-to-1 majorities against the idea!

Accordingly, if the Republicans want to make inroads among Hispanic voters, their course is clear -- stand firmly against amnesty!

The Texas elections last Fall are proof of this proposition. The Republicans were most strongly against amnesty performed the best among Hispanic voters. Indeed, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick actually won a majority of the Hispanic vote -- and his opponent was a "wise Latina"!
