Jurors convicted Colorado theater shooter James Holmes on Thursday in the chilling 2012 attack on defenseless moviegoers at a midnight Batman premiere, rejecting defense arguments that the former graduate student was insane and driven to murder by delusions.

The 27-year-old Holmes, who had been working toward his Ph.D. in neuroscience, could get the death penalty for the massacre that left 12 people dead and dozens of others wounded.

I was listening to the Bob Golic show on WNIR Kent/Akron this afternoon. He mentioned something about the doc that declared him sane had no credentials. I thought that was rather odd?????

This was a stunningly horrible and calculated evil. Anyone who dose something like this is crazy. I am glad the jury did not fall for the argument that he did not know right from wrong.

The problem with our justice system (one of them, anyway) is that once a murderer gets the death penalty, they file appeal after appeal, and stay on death row for maybe 30 years. (some shorter, some longer). I say, let them have 2 appeals - if they lose - stick the needle in their worthless arms, and stop wasting the taxpayers money on this scum. Maybe they should re institute the firing squad for those who shoot and kill innocent victims. I think it’s on the books in a few states, but, not used. I’m trying to remember the movie I watched where the criminal chose the firing squad. Maybe in Utah or Idaho?

“That Holmes was the lone gunman was never in doubt.”

So who was the accomplice who let him enter the theater by the back, LOCKED door? Hang ‘em BOTH!

Ah, yes! An Alec Guinness movie comes to mind...as he stood before the firing squad, and as they unleashed their barrage, we see him still standing smoking his ‘last’ cigarette, and then the camera turns and we see the officer in charge drop, riddled by bullets! Loved that movie, though I do not remember the name of it...
