Big 3 broadcast nets deep-six Obama's suburb-busting plan
The American Thinker ^ | 7-14-15 | Thomas Lifson

The Democrat-Media Complex have just told us what they fear the most as an issue in the 2016 election: President Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transform” suburbia (as explained today by Jeannie DeAngelis). This is an issue that literally hits voters where they live, by using the denial of federal funding to override local control and force communities to provide low-income housing distributed to approved minority groups.

Investor’s Business Daily reports that all three broadcast networks ignored the story that affects their viewers more directly than almost any other issue.

The Big Three news networks all punted on covering one of the Obama regime's most radical policies: new rules forcing cities to redraw the racial makeup of suburban neighborhoods. Why the hush-up? Politics.

ABC, CBS and NBC refused to cover the administration's official unveiling of a policy as ambitious and politically radioactive as its socialized medicine scheme.

Our mainstream media increasingly resemble the old Soviet Union’s state-controlled media, which used to feature stories of heroic workers busting production quotas and young pioneers (the Boy Scout equivalent) bringing food to shut-ins, instead of real news of the outside world.

~snip~

There is a sinister poltical motive behind the plan, one our own Ed Lasky first pointed out last year, and elaborated upon this year. First comes immigration, legal and illegal. Then comes amnesty. Then comes forcing newcomers into GOP-held congressional districts, so as to swing them to Democrats. Then comes permanent Democrat control of Congress and the Oval Office, and the utopia of statism, with the government in control of every aspect of our lives.

It’s happening, people, and your neighborhood has a bulls-eye on it. Say “Salaam” to your new neighbors from the Middle East.

Unfortunately, at least in cities, the problem has been increased by developers who only want to build market rate and luxury housing. Donald Trump’s father made a good living building blue and white collar worker housing. His son decided he wanted to do the big fancy stuff and made lots of money. Now everybody wants to copy him, and nobody is building lower cost housing in quantity in very many places. This has been further affected by more stringent housing codes, permitting processes, and BOCA regs.

Let’s start with the 5 acre plot on a private lake, private road and gated outside of Wilmington, DE. Then, Martha’s Vineyard, Beverly Hills, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Bar Harbor can follow.

Somehow, I don’t think any of those will be affected.

I’m on a couple boards and commissions in my mid Michigan twp, and we have already figured out that the strings attached to “grant” money isn’t worth it.

I also work at a civil engineering firm, and our municipal clients are figuring out that it costs less to pay for their projects on their own than to take federal dollars. The money the Feds offer ties the construction work to paying prevailing wage laws, and it’s cheaper in the long run to avoid that.

I wonder if the idiot left gave any thought to the fact that all of the politically gerrymandered districts will now be broken up.

Soon as the “street rats” start roaming the neighborhood at night, sneaking into their homes and stealing their possessions, perhaps then we will hear from them.

Nothing to see here in the good old USSA.

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that after I leave this world (which won’t be too much longer) the generation that allowed our country to politically rot will have the extreme joy in living just like old Doctor Zhivago did in his own house, taken over by the government, and allotted a single room to live in with his family.

I will leave no living children behind to suffer the future and smile while thinking “what goes around comes around.”

The millennial generation has “pooped in their pants” and now has to wear them. However, it’s not too late to turn the tide but that would take sacrifice and that ain’t gonna happen.

Don’t worry about that. When the Marxist in Chief gets through with us we won’t have the right to vote.

If Trump picks up this issue and runs with it like he has on immigration he will be a shoe in for the nomination.
He is perfectly situated to do it with his fearless attitude, especially when the left wing commies come after him with the usual attack, yeah look at the billionaire who does not want minorities in his neighborhood,Donald comes back, hey I am a billionaire,I can buy my own island, you poor schlubs who work your ass off to buy a modest home in the suburbs are the ones who are going to have Muhammad next door in section 8 housing with this rule Obama and Hillary are shoving down your throat,it is already in effect FOLKS,thanks to the communists in the Democrat party!

How about just giving out assigned government housing to everyone.

Trump built a luxury Trump Tower apartment complex in New Rochelle, right next to the New Haven line train station. Elites can live outside of Manhattan and hop on the train without having to mingle with the commoners in New Rochelle. However, it is still the hub of potential renewal efforts in New Rochelle. This is the opposite of Obama's plan to bring the poor to wealthy communities.

I mention this because it is an issue ready-made for Trump -- housing. Even if Trump's specialty is luxury housing, he can still capitalize on it as an expert on community development and revitalization.

I agree, Trump ought to be able to use housing as a ready-made issue, see my Comment #21. There is no good reason people cannot be making money building both low, market rate, and luxury housing if in addition to greed, one also wishes to strengthen the Republic.
