Obama is on his way to decimating the greatest military organization on the planet. He has already fired much of the cream of the officers’ corps, letting go of hundreds of our most experienced, battle-hardened combat leaders, and now he's about to gut the rank and file, the soldiers, the grunts, the mainstay of any army.
I have stated many times, as one who remembers Pearl Harbor and the dark days of World War II, that only two things protect America: (1) the grace of Almighty God and (2) the United States military. It was that way in 1941, and it’s that way in 2015, Barack Obama notwithstanding.

Through the better part of the aughts, this country had the best trained, equipped and combat experienced army in the world - bar none IMO. Combat veterans with multiple tours. Both active duty and reserve units.
Today we are left with the vestiges of a force that has been abandoned by the VA, decimated by Obama, and perverted by LGBTQ-whatever correctness. One might even question the training that it does within the confines of THIS country as having to do with protection of this country from without.

A simple Google search will reveal estimates of upwards of 300 million weapons in the hands of civilian Americans. What do you think ROEs here would be? I know from my perspective, there’s not a damned thing about “Federal Government and I’m here to help” I believe.

There is one major difference between 1941 and today. Today we are broke. We have been on a "war time" spending spree for 8 years, without the war.
We were "flat footed" in 1941, but today were are both flat footed and broke.

Re: actual coup, I think the best and brightest have already seen the writing on the wall and left, frankly. I think one would be hard pressed to find any meaningful coup-worthy segment of the military that would oust Obama now. Damage done.

you do it one of two ways…suck-up to the political class…or become a warrior and wait til you are needed…Patton was a great example..Ike need him to win the war..most wars start with the U.S. having political generals at the start..

I came to know much of the military as it became in the 1980s and later through my interaction because of my pre-retirement job, for sure. Completely different culture from my enlisted days 1968-76. We just weren’t that political then I guess.
