Live Aid celebrates its official 30th anniversary today, but theres only one star from the famous Wembley show that stands out in our minds.
Thats Freddie Mercury who performed the most epic of epic sets with Queen on July 13th 1985.
For a solid 25 minutes Freddie had the entire Wembley stadium on their feet, as well as 1.5 billion viewers at home, and it has gone down in history as arguably his greatest ever performance.
So whether you wait until your lunch break, or stick your headphones on now, you wont regret the time you spent watching Freddie Mercury in his element.

Stick around till 'Is This The World We Created'
I saw Queen on their first American tour, way back when? Also on the bill, Kansas and Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. I remember saying, that Queen singer is quite flamboyant.
Daily Motion is the French version of YouTube, check them out for Doctor Who episodes. Use your imagination... Also, Sherlock, Ab Fab, etc.
As for Opera...
What? No rainbow flags? Guess that’s the difference between respect and advocacy. Did see a Lone Star flag though.
Nice Barcelona clip - Thanks!
My favorite concert recollection of a lean in band was when I saw Yes here in Dallas. The band that was supposed to open for them didn't show (I think it was Berlin). Anyway, instead of just having nothing, they played about an hour's worth of Luney Tunes. OMG. It was awesome. a whole stadium full of some rather chemically altered folks watching Bugs Bunny, and Road Runner cartoons.... It was really a great way to entertain a crowd.
Somehow, though, I still managed to miss a lot of the highlight moments: Queen, Mick Jagger and Tina Turner's duet, Simon le Bon's voice cracking during "Wild Boys." On the other hand, I did catch Paul McCartney, Phil Collins on both sides of the Atlantic, and his sitting in on drums with Led Zeppelin.
I saw Queen at Madison Square Garden on 7/28/1982. A friend of mine dragged me because her friend cancelled last minute. It ended up being one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Freddie Mercury was outstanding. I walked out of there a Queen fan forever. (Incidentally, the trip down memory lane made me dig out my ticket stub - yeah, I kept it. The price on the ticket? $13.50. They were good seats, too!)
He was the guy with “that voice.”
Wow. $13.50 won’t even pay for parking now.
The last time I paid for parking in NYC (a few years ago), it cost me $60 for 4 hours.
Freddy Mercury, real name Faroukh Balsara — an Irani origin Indian
U2’s “Bad” was the high point for me. And of course my liberal friend’s girlfriend lecturing us that we shouldn’t watch unless we donated.
U2 fans might beg to differ.
