Sen. Jeff Sessions (Rep-Ala) told The Daily Caller Tuesday that city officials that defy federal immigration laws could be charged with crime for not informing officials about felons the city is harboring. Sessions believes it is time for Congress to say that if cities and counties that if they do not cooperate with Congress and federal law enforcement, they should not get federal money from Washington. "To me, it’s just unthinkable — as a US attorney, I had a bunch of cities and every day holds are filed. So many criminals have committed crimes in multiple jurisdictions,” Sessions said.
Sessions remarks comes on the heels of the shooting of Kathryn Steinle, a 32-year-old who died last Wednesday after a five-time deported Mexican national, Francisco Sanchez, fatally shot Steinle in San Francisco. San Francisco, known for its decades-old sanctuary city status, only allows holds on felons with violent records. Sanchez, according to local reports had multiple felonies but no major violent crime convictions in recent years. “There has to be a recognition that a sanctuary city which San Francisco became decades ago with the Salvadoran relief. That was about persecuted people that may not have proper status being given sanctuary,” California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa told The Daily Caller. “Convicted felons that have been previously deported and who were incarcerated under the care and control of a city, county, or a state—they have an obligation and their obligation cannot allow this so-called sanctuary city. San Francisco flagrantly defied any sense of responsibility for a known violent criminal,” Issa said.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a law in 2013 restricting circumstances under when individuals who are arrested could be placed in federal immigration detainers or holds. As a result, The La Times notes, other cites and counties nationwide stopped cooperating with ICE detainer requests, when a federal judge ruled an Oregon county violated one illegal immigrant’s Fourth Amendment rights by detaining her without probable cause. “This disregarding of detainers and releasing persons that ICE has put a hold on — it goes against all traditions of law enforcement. Laws and courtesies within departments — if you have somebody charged with a crime in one city, you hold them until you complete your business with them,” Sessions said.
“The other city wants to charge them with an important crime files a detainer and when you’re finished, they’re sent to the next one to face the charges there. They’re not released,” he added noting that another city, which may be looking for the fugitive will have to go look for the criminal again and spend thousands doing so, while the fugitive may “murder somebody in the interim.” Sessions explained, “So what was happening was, ICE authorities were filing detainers and sanctuary cities were saying, ‘We’re not gonna honor them. They finished paying for the crime they committed in our city — we’ve released them.’”
If they are allowed to continue to decide which federal laws they like and support and the federal laws they do not like and refuse to support, then, why should any American follow any laws he or she does not like?
As long as federal immigration laws are not being applied and strictly followed, then, not a single American should support or follow through on homosexual (ass-bandits) getting married!
The rule of law is no longer being followed by the liberal socialist, specifically, federal immigration laws and it is costing Americans their very lives! S.F. Mayor and council members should be arrested and charged with conspiracy to murder, giving aid and comfort to the crime of murder, obstruction of justice, and countless other crimes and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
If the federal government does not, then it will be open season on ass-bandits, since federal law no longer has any teeth in it and will not be supported by any Americans!
Liberal socialist cannot continue to pick and choose which laws they will enforce and which ones they will not!

Of course, federal money at the very least should be stopped to sanctuary cities. They are enabling lawbreakers and supporting, and their real goal is to harm this country.
I think the City Officials could be sued and a jury convinced that they are guilty using the doctrine of vicarious liability.
It has been used against Tom Metzger and WAR, a white supremacist -- owing to his hate talk's influence over skinheads who had murdered an innocent black man. IOW the skinhead's were not employees of WAR and were not members of WAR. But they had read and heard WAR material.
IMO those not familiar with our heritage and have criminal minds could feel the City Officials giving them an OK to attack Americans.

That has always been the ultimate hammer over the states, counties and cities, so this should be nothing new. I build roads and infrastructure for a living and it was always pointed out to us by our masters that we must follow every federal regulation or expect to have the money pulled or pay it back if it was already spent.
Even for good old federal pork grants they required that you prove to them that your agency was taxing the public to the fullest extent prior to receiving money.
I would think they could use the same arguments as when people sue these agencies for being victims of violence for failure to supervise convicts who were released early or on parole.
you cannot sue the paroling authority. The government has all kinds of protections for bad decisions which get people killed.
This was that case where the young lady was kidnapped and repeatedly raped, had 2 children and held captive for 17 years or so and it happened in California.
we had a football player killed by an illegal LA let out. When the parents testified to get the city to change the catch and release policy, they were hooted out of the meeting.
