Update: Hood County issues marriage license to same-sex couple after they filed federal lawsuit [TX]

Update at 10:28 a.m.: In a prepared statement, attorney Jan Soifer says her clients Jim Cato and Joe Stapleton are “delighted that they finally have been issued a marriage license and can get married in their home county.”

However, she adds, “It’s a shame that they needed to hire lawyers and file a lawsuit to make that happen. The issuance of the license this morning immediately after the lawsuit was filed does not change the fact that Hood County Clerk Katie Lang has been willfully violating the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law since Friday, June 26, when the Supreme Court issued its Obergefell opinion. The license was issued this morning, a few hours after the lawsuit was filed, in handwriting on the existing license form, which proves that County Clerk Lang easily could have complied with the law without waiting ten days. Under these circumstances, the lawsuit will not be dismissed until and unless we have an agreement from Clerk Lang that her office will issue marriage licenses to all couples, gay and straight, without delay, and an agreement to pay Jim and Joe’s attorneys’ fees for being forced to file the lawsuit.”

Hood County isn’t rich but they’re more wealthy than San Saba County is. This law suit is further proof “gays” aren’t happy but evil demanding monsters.

America has been put to a test and it is fumbling badly.

I believe the "test" was decades ago, and now we are failing. What we are seeing now is the fallout.

In one sense there is no singular test here, only an escalation of tribulation.

But in another sense yes, this is a new element.

Anyhow, we can sit around and jawbone about how knowledgeable we are about exactly when this trouble hit or that trouble hit...

or we can go to the Help In Time Of Trouble.

Check Maryland.

Well, almost.

But fine. Maryland voted this monstrosity in. Why should that mean it gets voted in for 49 other states too.

As a county clerk she should have issued the license upon demand. But since they had to file a federal lawsuit she should be fine $135,000,000, be tied to a post and whipped until her back is in ribbons, have her children fed to alligators in front of her and then be prohibited from talking to anyone about the experience. in every state that had a referendum (including the far left mecca of California), homosexual marriage lost.

That was true until 2012, but in 2012, Maine, Maryland and Washington voters passed initiatives in favor of same-sex marriage, and Minnesota voters rejected an initiative to prohibit same-sex marriage.

No, the US Supreme Court (5 members particularly) have violated the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

The bottom line is that a majority of the current Supreme Court Justices have decided that words in the Constitution are no longer construed based upon what the drafters of the words intended them to mean. Instead, the Constitution means whatever the hell any 5 out of 9 Supreme Court Justices currently want it to mean. There are no longer any limits on what the oligarchy of un-elected Justices can decree.

The only way that this is going to change any time soon is if we can elect a CONSERVATIVE President AND the Republicans hold on to the Senate in 2016. It doesn’t matter who we elect President if Chuckie Schumer is Senate Majority Leader.

IF we can elect a CONSERVATIVE President AND the Republicans hold onto the Senate then it will be possible to replace far left wing liberal Supreme Court Justices with conservative ones. If Hillary or Jeb Bush get elected, then far left wing liberal justices will be legislating from the bench for the next 30 years.

Yep, the county caved. But don’t worry, that won’t stop the happy couple from proceeding with lawsuit and demanding millions for emotional distress.
It’s about the shakedown.
I wouldn’t be surprised if many of these gay couples don’t actually have any type of ceremony after receiving the license. They know gay marriage is a sham. They want to be refused a license so they can get the money.
