Kansas City will gain from the National Council of La Raza conference (Hillary to speak)

Immigration reform will be a big topic at the 2015 National Council of La Raza Annual Conference, starting Saturday at Bartle Hall. But the Latino population, like the rest of America, is concerned with so much more than that.

In addition to meaningful talks on immigration, focused on permanent solutions, the 10,000 or more convention-goers will brainstorm on voting rights, education, civil rights, health care, workforce development and youth leadership. For four days, the Kansas City event will spotlight issues affecting America’s largest and one of its fastest growing minority groups.

Janet Murguia, who has headed La Raza for 10 years as president and chief executive, is bringing the nation’s leading Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization to the community where she was raised. It’s going to be a celebration with a theme of “Lead. Connect. Empower.”

The convention’s profile ticked up a few notches last week when organizers announced that former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton planned to attend. Previously, Democrat Martin O’Malley, former governor of Maryland, had been the only presidential candidate to accept an invitation. . .

I guess Hillary will try to tell La Raza that she will pave the way for the establishment of Aztlán quicker than el jefe Jeb. They are both equally evil in my book.

LaRaza is the ACLU of Hispanics. Among other ultra-liberal, crazy positions held by some of its members is that the Southwest belongs to Mexico.

LaRaza is the ACLU of Hispanics

I would go even further to say that it is the Latino/Hispanic version of the KKK or Aryan Nations.

What is now the America southwest “belonged” to the following groups:

1. Warring Indian tribes, 10,000+ years.

2. Spain: 223 years, depending on how you figure it.

3. Mexico: 27 years.

4. USA: 167 years and counting.

Can anybody give me a logical reason why #4’s title should outweigh the others?

None of the first three ever had anything close to the degree of control #4 had and has.

#2 stole it from #1, #3 stole it from #2. #4 stole/bought/conquered it from #3. What makes the last transfer of title the only one that isn’t valid?

So explain to me again why whites need to worry about being ‘racist’?

La Raza. Nothing racist about a group that calls itself “The Race”. Nope. Not one bit.

Let's see how many Mexican Flags in the crowd. That always p***** us American Patriots off.

I don't ever remember seeing Italian flags, Irish Flags or Polish flags at "American" affairs.

They had their little clubs, their festivals, their neighborhoods and they worked!!

It was about celebrating their heritage...not establishing a country within a country.

So O’Malley was the only political attendee....until Hillary heard about it. She knows O’Malley will wind up on top....That’s the rival she has to “hurt”. And I don’t think she can.

"Conquer" was recognized world wide. It still is.

No different than the US and England.

The weird part is that for Mexico to have valid claim to the SW, you have to accept several incompatible POVs.

The Spanish claim to the area was based on utterly Eurocentric legalisms of who “discovered” the area. Which I though leftists objected to, claiming that Columbus didn’t discover anything, as people were already living there.

The Mexican claim is based on the right to revolution, but still on the notion that the Spanish claim was valid, just taken over during their revolution by the Mexicans.

A little-known fact is that Mexican independence was won not in the name of freedom and human rights, but in the name of continued special privileges for clergy, nobility and army officers. IOW, the exact opposite of American independence.

Which means for Spanish claims and the descended Mexican claims to be valid, you have to ignore the claims of people who’d actually lived their for millenia. Most Mexicans have some Indian blood, but it’s almost always from tribes who lived southof the present border.

Conservatives better listen carefully, Hispanics will soon be the majority in this country since odumbo removed the border doors from their hinges and we are an extension of Mexico.

Mexico population: 120M.

US non-Hispanic population: 260M.

Even if entire population of Mexico moved here, Hispanics would total 170M, nowhere close to a majority.

Immigration is a big problem, but not because they’ll be outnumbering the rest of us anytime soon.

Sorry, typo.

Should have read, “Can anybody give me a logical reason why #3’s title should outweigh the others?”

In fact, if the entire population of Mexico and Central America moved here, they’d total 212M Hispanics, still not a majority of US population.

The mentally-ill with same-sex attraction number only about 2% of the population, but have an influence far larger than that.
