Donald Trump: I didn't expect business backlash to be "quite this severe"
CBS News ^ | July 4th, 2015 | By Reena Flores

On the heels of several major corporations distancing themselves from Donald Trump's various business interests, the Republican presidential candidate admitted Saturday that he didn't think the corporate backlash to his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants would be "quite this severe."

"I knew it was going to be bad because I was told this. All my life I have been told this: If you are successful, you don't run for office," Trump said in an interview on Fox News, addressing the recent spate of businesses that have severed their relationships with his brand. "I didn't know it was going to be quite this severe, but I really knew it was going to be bad."

During his presidential campaign announcement last month, Trump emphasized the need to curtail immigration from the southern border and criticized Mexican immigrants for "bringing crime" and being "rapists."

"It seems like I'm sort of the whipping post because I bring it up. And I don't understand whether you are liberal or whether you are conservative or whether you are Republican, Democrat -- why wouldn't you talk about a problem?" Trump said Saturday. "The crime is raging. It's violent, and people don't want to even talk about it. If you talk about it, you are a racist. I don't understand it."

No. He’s lived in a world of people who say no you can’t do tgat

If he’s motivated by patriotism he can forge ahead. Wherever it leads, he’ll have constructed an opposition to the established corrupt political bulkhead and he’ll be a good supporter of whomever is smart enough to work for his support

If he’s motivated by desire for power he may talk himself out of this. It can’t be worth it

Any other of many reasons- who knows?

I suspect the former

Having been listening to him for many years. He’s unpredictable in politics. He’s a businessman

You have to fight the press with the truth of what you said because they lie constantly. You’re going to have to attack the press because they won’t ever stop attacking a Republican.

“Can’t let the truth be spoken’ - surely he’s noticed it. He is prophetic in the very Biblical sense of speaking the Truth. They killed the prophets, remember?

Nice try at using any excuse to dump on The Donald. Won’t work no matter how much you badmouth him. Trump will just double down.

Trump emphasized the need to curtail immigration from the southern border and criticized Mexican immigrants for "bringing crime" and being "rapists."

Trump criticized ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, not "immigration".

Trump said that SOME Mexicans are criminals and rapists, he didn't just say Mexicans.

seeBS lies.

Right We should go with the tried and true GOP-E strategy of running an establishment RINO who trashes their conservative opponents viciously but plays nicely with the democrat candidate in the general. I am overjoyed that Trump is running. The immigration issue is one that neither side wants brought up because the GOP base is very much opposed to what the Chamber of Commerce financed establishment republicans and the democrats both want, blanket amnesty. Trump has at least brought it up and if he stays in long enough, every candidate will have to state where they stand on it. In my view, Trump cannot hurt the GOP chances of winning the WH as much as running an amnesty whore like Jeb or somebody similar would. Besides, as we saw in 2008 and 2012, the stupid party is fully capable of losing with no help from Trump.

The businesses that are complaining should be audited immediately for their[[ [[[I\-9s and photo copies of I and Social Security cards for every employee and if they don't have them, fine the hell out of them.

If anything, this will illustrate fully for all to see, just how bad the uniparty establishment has become in Washington, DC.

He is unfavorable with 71% of the UmS. I don’t think he needs to worry about that.

He got my vote when NBC got mad at him. I never watch NBC and never will. I don't have Macy's in my city. I think I heard today (mumbled this morning by the bush cadets on fox that Trump is now # 1 . He beat out bushkin and it was a shock to bush€” I mean to Fox. Karl Rove went into catatonic stupor with his buddy Roger Ailes. Trump will be # 1 after he spanked rubio today on twitter real bad. He whooped him real bad by shaming him over the murder of the 32 woman in front of her dad by a 4 time releasd illegal alien. What do have to say Marco? Speak as loud you castigated the new #1 in the polls.
I read that Trump will be coming out with the new prison population numbers of illegal Mexican felons . There have been over 150 murders by them since the first of the year but wait until you hear the rape conviction number. But the number that will shock your sox off in the % of illegal alien prisoner in federal penitentiaries— 28%!! How bout that romney/bush rubio? speak up.

I love how now in the article suddenly Rubio is touted as a legitimate Hispanic, at least on this issue.

He is quickly finding out——that NO ONE is allowed to speak Truth to power.

No One...

It is like JFK, jr. stated 7 days before he was killed:
There’s a plot in this country to enslave every man, woman and child. Before I leave this high and noble office, I intend to expose this plot.

Malcom X stated two days before he was killed: The democrats are playing you fro a political CHUMP and if you vote for them, not only are you a CHUMP, you are a traitor to your race!”

The perceptions of the ignorant masses require Lies and Lies and NO God. God and Natural Law (Common Sense) is being deliberately destroyed in the minds of our children as all traditions, so they will be unable to “think” like a Lincoln, Washington or Jefferson. They will have little tribal minds unable to be Wise and discerning between Good and Evil where Vice is Virtue and being a boy in a harem (Epstein/Clinton lifestylers) are “Good” and a “honor”..

I’ve been reading many of the conservative boards today and I’m sure his poll numbers are going to keep on going up. The GOP-e attacks are backfiring.

Like this guy over at Newsmax:

“I never thought I would see the day that I would vote for trump for anything but I have looked at the other contenders and right now I think he is the only one who means what he says and will back up what he says.”

Here we have a golden opportunity and the man who pulled it off is confused.

I am not so sure. I think trump might be using the media to toy with his tormentors and bait them into attacking him more. They attacked him, and his poll numbers shot up. Maybe he wants more of the same. If he has any advisors that are any good, they are contemplating more statements that he can make that are TRUE but will draw flack.
