Christian Bakers Fined, Gagged in Gay Cake Case
CBN ^ | Friday, July 03, 2015 | CBNNews.com

An Oregon official certified a ruling Thursday imposing a $135,000 fine against Christian bakers who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

The official then ordered the owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa not to speak publicly about their conscientous decision to follow their religious beliefs by not baking any cakes for same-sex weddings.

The company has gone out of business due to the legal battle.

An article by The Daily Signal, a publication of the Heritage Foundation, states that Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian ordered Aaron and Melissa Klein to "cease and desist" from openly professing that they won't serve gay weddings because of their Christian beliefs.

Avakian cited an Oregon state law in his ruling:

"The Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries hereby orders (the Kleins) to cease and desist from publishing, circulating, issuing or displaying, or causing to be published … any communication to the effect that any of the accommodations … will be refused, withheld from or denied to, or that any discrimination be made against, any person on account of their sexual orientation."

On their Facebook page, the Kleins responded:

"This effectively strips us of all our First Amendment rights. According to the state of Oregon we neither have freedom of religion or freedom of speech."

The Kleins say they will appeal the ruling.

Clearly unconstitutional. Wonder where the $135,000 figure came from.

Thank you. I think people forget. The Constitution doesn’t grant rights. The Constitution guarantees that the government won’t transgress the rights you naturally have. Everyone is born with the natural right to speak freely.

Everyone is born with the natural right to speak freely.

And when they incorporate, they voluntarily exchange that right for mere privilege, granted at the government's convenience, and limited to the government's needs.

WHY I HAVE AN ILLUMINATED CROSS AS A PROTEST

When are those so called democrats who are really “democratic” in name only and belong to a political party which espouses one perfect world socialist state ever going to be called out on their core beliefs ? Nooo that wouldn’t be bi-partisan ! Ask any of those so called GOPES (Government Over the People Elite Statists) campaign advisors about depressing the “democrat” vote and you get a lecture.Democrat core beliefs showed up with booing the mention of God in 2012 which made it official. They’ve declared a war on religion because it opposes their agenda particularly Christianity.Which I for one now have an illumiuated crucifix at night in my front yard facing the street (Highway) as a statement. And encourage others do as well

A DEMOCRAT apparently doesn’t believe there’s such a thing as the Ten Commandments or sin because everything that leaves their mouths is a lie. But I have yet to hear a Republican candidate even suggest even in jest mention why “democrat” lying is part of their core belief ? Never mind the use of their positions promoting crony capitalism campaign contributers who took our money to finance alternate energy plans spending billions that went belly up at our expense while leaving our infastructure to fall apart......

Why ? Because it isn’t being bi-partisan or lets not forget the other trap being politically correct.. Which is nothing more than a perverted effort to silence opposition to a socialist agenda

Yeah. I didn’t get that the bakery was incorporated from the article. I guess you know something about the case that wasn’t stated.

Nevertheless, you can’t give up natural rights. You can choose not to exercise them. But you can no more give them up than you can choose to stop breathing.

I kind of like this idea, except for the implication that the baker is willing to compromise his principles for $5,000.

And the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment.

Increasingly, people who hold religious beliefs against homosexuality are being forced to defend themselves against the tyranny of the minority. The manner of the defense may take several forms but the words of Alexander Solzhenitsyn ring too true: “And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you’d be cracking the skull of a cutthroat.”

It also violates their civil rights. According the Civil rights act (VII, 1964) discrimination against color, male/female, national origin, or RELIGION is a violation of that law.

Every time the court caves to a homo at the expense of a heteroperfect, the heteroperfects rights have been violated according to the Civil Rights Act.

This Commissioner should be sued personally for violating their civil rights. Make him pay.

I agree wholeheartedly. Take him to civil court and charge him with causing financial and mental damages.

I'm thinking of finding a vegan restaurant (bound to be some in a liberal city) and demand to be serve beef steak. When they refuse, file a complaint that they are discriminating against me as a meat-eater. The Left's response, of course, will be, "If you wanted a steak, there are hundreds of places in town that would serve you a steak." To which I would reply "If I'm gay and want a cake, I can force whatever baker I want to accommodate me regardless of their religious objections. Why would the vegan's religion be any more important than the Christian baker's?

This is a violation of natural and God given rights. Speech.

I'd find some like-minded friends and picket the Commissioner's house. Make this little Rat bastard as uncomfortable as possible. Tell his children what a Nazi their father is.

But let me guess, the Oregon authorities would not have the guts to do this to a Muslim bakery that refused to bake a gay wedding cake. Very petty but ultimately very cowardly people running things these days.

I don’t think I’ll be surprised when this culminates in some gaystapo types assuming room temperature.

If (when) the SHTF, there's no doubt in my mind they'll be the first to be used as target practice, because not every normal heterosexual is religious.
Forcing people to think contrary to their conscience creates the hate - and then the homos lie about and claim they're the victims!

.Homo "tolerance" is nothing but a forced "confession" via attacks and intimidation from the Luciferions. There's no such thing as homo tolerance. It's all being forced on the world by the Soros activist. A few billion dollars from an old and dying man can pay for a lot of NAZI solders. That's what we're seeing today.

Because it's not about a cake.

The radical socialists (NAZIs) on the left and the muslims have joined forces (just like they did in Germany during WWII) . Both, in the end, think they can destroy the other and end up the rulers.
