Lol, I got stopped at an airport on the way home from spending Christmas with family out of town. The metal detector went off, my luggage was checked out (by a really handsome guy!). A freshly-baked pumpkin bread wrapped in tinfoil was the culprit! Yeah, we can fit just about anything in our luggage... Too bad I couldn’t talk the guy into wearing a garment bag and coming home with me!

Now just think. If YOU had been wearing the garment bag on your head, you could have kept your pumpkin bread

I was stopped coming home from Boston and ordered to open my bag because of a thick shape they could not identify.

It was the biography of Thomas Jefferson....weird, huh?

Wow, THAT'S weird- a heavy metal pumpkin bread is odd shaped, but, for Pete's sake, a book?! Wow... Was anyone embarrassed that it was about Thomas Jefferson, besides?!

My funny part was when he had to open my suitcase. He had to hold his hands up and ask if I had any incendiary devices in there that would blow up if the suitcase were opened (like Peter Graves and the self-destructing reel to reel tape recorder on"Mission: Impossible"!). Then he opens it, and this big, shiny metal thing the size of a big brick is in there, and they had to take it and x ray it again. He was so kind and apologetic, and, I think a little embarrassed. I laughed it off- should have asked him out for coffee, and shared the pumpkin bread, lol!!

LOL, well, they used to say that Marilyn Monroe would look good even if she were wearing a potato sack... 😀

Yep...i went through the same procedure. When the guy saw it was Thomas Jefferson, he seemed a bit chagrined! LOL!

Sounds like the auction was fun, but being anywhere for 5 hours is more than I could take.

Glad they brought home some treasures. What fun!

Thanks to both of you for finding/posting the Rush Limbaugh narrative.

I’ve heard Rush read it many times. It is excellent.
