Business insider ^ | July 1 2015 | Business Insider

Posted on 07/03/2015 2:04:59 PM PDT by WilliamIII

Real-estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a boycott of Macy's on Wednesday after the retail company said it would drop Trump's products. Earlier in the day, Macy's said it was snubbing Trump because of the "disparaging characterizations" he made about Mexican immigrants during his campaign launch. Among other things, Trump accused Mexico of sending its "rapists" and drug dealers to the US.

In addition to blasting Macy's in an official statement, Trump attacked Macy's in a series of tweets for being "weak on border security"

Went shopping today. One of my favorite places to shop was Macy’s. Too bad I tore up my card. Too many other stores to choose from to put up with that bullshit.

Macy’s is already having money problems - having to close stores, etc. This will not help at all, unless Macy’s thinks the illegals will step up and make the difference.

Not the only one...there is a concerted effort against Cruz too...

And no, I am not new to politics, but Trump is all talk with no plan.

BTw, am I wrong that Cruz has laid out his plans? Why not tell us where they stand?

He is honest? Really?

Is he honest about opposing Obamacare after supporting Single Payer?

Is he honest saying he supports the 2nd, when is for gun control?

Is he honest when he says that he is a Conservative Republican and yet, has has a history of Democrat views, donations, etc?

This is awesome.

Bout time the lefty corporate shills get a taste of what the right can do when it decides to back policies that hurt its customers. Open borders isn’t going to create a new generation of Macy’s buyers - its just going to gut the existing ones.

Indeed - screw Macy’s if they want to act JC Penney stupid. Retail is hard. Much harder if you shoot your mouth of and get political.

As far as Obamacare you know his opinion.

His donations have been Right and Left. He is a businessman.

Trump may seem to be throwing political hand grenades in the opinion of many, but he also says many things that Americans have hungered for, for many years. How else can you explain his unexpected rise in popularity?

I listened to his interview with Hannity and he gave NO specifics on what he’d do.

I see what you're saying.

I just looked at Cruz's detailed list of what he would do and... wha... wha... wait.

Do Cruz even HAVE one?

Not fascism, but nationalism — love of country, even. He talks with the voice of change, but not the change that Obama brought with him. Ever since the end of WWII, nationalism has become a dirty word in the US. That’s why we have become a welcome mat for the world to clean their shoes.

Many Americans are fed up with being silenced, of having to apologize when they have done nothing wrong, of fearing to lose their job because the corporation does not like an innocent comment they made. Some have even been penalized for private comments in their homes.

It is refreshing to seem somebody speak out, to take on those who censure us. It is craze that adults can not even utter certain words but have to say the "a-word," "n-word," whatever.

You don't think that the political class going after people just for voicing opinions they disagree with is not fascism?

That idiot running NYC, the guys who run Macys, the White House - they're all using their authority to go after people who simply disagree.

It's a scary thing going on in the US today.

Trump spoke the truth

I'll boycott Macy's, Amazon, NASCAR and Walmart. I'm tired of them all anyway.

When Cabelas and Cheaper than Dirt start complaining I'm going to my bunker.

You’d better care about your pilot’s political persuasion — you don’t want him to carry a prayer rug into the cockpit while exclaiming ‘allah Akbar’ as he revs the engines, do you? Even Obama prefers a Christian dude as his pilot over a co-religionist.

Apparently NASCAR holds their award ceremony at a Trump hotel. Camping World is the sponsor of the NASCAR truck series. If the award ceremony is held as planned at the Trump facility Camping World will not attend. This is a major sponsorship for NASCAR and in this poor economy they would be difficult to replace. They have taken a page from the Jesse Jackson book and are forcing them to capitulate which in the current NASCAR world they would probably do anyway.

I was discussing political persuasion, not religion, but you certainly do have a point.

No, they have not. Yes, he has occasionally given to Republicans, but his Democrat contributions are more prevalent. Again, I understand giving to Democrats in NYC, but in CA? Seriously?

And no, he isn’t solid on the 2nd. He has an ever evolving position on this issue too. Any idea how he stands on judges? The last SCOTUS rulings? anything other than bombing oil fields and building a fence?

As for Obamacare, he has said he opposed it...and yet, he supported Single Payer. Is this evolving too?

Yea, read my post again, then comment on what I said, not on what you wished I’d said.
