Hispanic leaders say Republican Party must condemn Trump

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hispanic leaders are warning of harm to Republican White House hopes unless the party's presidential contenders do more to condemn Donald Trump, a businessman turned presidential candidate who's refusing to apologize for calling Mexican immigrants rapists and drug dealers.

Trump's comments, delivered in his announcement speech last month, have haunted the GOP for much of the last two weeks and dominated Spanish-language media. It's bad timing for a Republican Party that has invested significantly in Hispanic outreach in recent years, given the surging influence of the minority vote.

Yet several Republican candidates have avoided the issue altogether, while those who have weighed in have declined to criticize Trump as strongly as many Hispanic leaders would like.

"The time has come for the candidates to distance themselves from Trump and call his comments what they are: ludicrous, baseless and insulting," said Alfonso Aguilar, a Republican who leads the American Principles Project's Latino Partnership. "Sadly, it hurts the party with Hispanic voters. It's a level of idiocy I haven't seen in a long time."

So if they condemn him will the Hispanics vote Republican? No? Then why do it?

Hispanic leaders can catch a burro back to Mexico if they’re disenchanted with free speech.

Democrat power mad “hispanic leaders”. Just like “the justice brothers” Sharpton and Jackson, willing to lead “their people” down the path to vote-slavery for personal gain.

DID THESE SAME HISPANIC LEADERS TELL THE DEMS TO CONDEM OBAMA?

Here's what he said July 1, 2015 (emphasis mine )

“I mean, look, we should not be encouraging illegal immigration,” Obama said. “What we should be doing is setting up a smart, legal immigration system that doesn’t separate families, but does focus on making sure that people who are dangerous, people who are gang-bangers or criminals — that we’re deporting them as quickly as possible, that we’re focusing our resources there — that we’re focusing on a strong border.

Trump probably has a slim to none chance of being the GOP nominee
but he sure has the populace riled up at his candidacy.

More like 'too close for comfort'.

Screw Hispanic leaders. If they don’t like it go back to their homeland, corrupt Mexico.

Don't they get it??? Republicans are going to keep pandering for the hispanic vote because their paymasters want cheap labor. Hispanics are going to keep demanding more and more concessions. The dwarfs will continually grovel even more, and hispanics will still vote Democrat.

How to do it? Real leaders in the Republican Party would grow a pair (my language goes trailer trash vivid when I'm angry) and tell hispanics how the vision of freedom, constitutional conservative government, and opportunity for success and a good life is what they're offering. That's what will win hispanic and other votes!

You know, this ‘condone or condemn’ choice is a false choice, a straw dog.

The idea that you must officially and publicly condone or condemn every thing, every statement, every idea - is just absurd.

Hispanic leaders are cut from the same sackcloth as black leaders. They are overlords who have shackled their constituents with poverty and ignorance.
Successful legal Hispanic citizens of the US hold these so called Hispanic leaders in absolute contempt. They are thugs, dependent upon the criminality of illegals for their cred.
Go Donald!

Thanks for the links!

I think Perry and Pataki are trying any way they can to get close to Trump, even through criticism, in the hope they'll get some on them:)
