State Silences Bakers Who Refused to Make Cake for Lesbian Couple, Fines Them $135K
The Daily Signal ^ | July 2, 2015 | Kelsey Harkness

Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian finalized a preliminary ruling today ordering Aaron and Melissa Klein, the bakers who refused to make a cake for a same-sex wedding, to pay $135,000 in emotional damages to the couple they denied service.

“This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage,” Avakian wrote. “It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.”

In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.

They're evil, not stupid. But you raise an interesting point about the double standards of the Left.

Indeed I do. I make the point every time I post something.

See my tagline (before it's ruled a hate crime).

It’ll be a cold day in hell before I ever set foot in Oregon. Also, Mr. Avakian can go f**k himself.

This is easy to solve. In order to avoid lawsuits/fines a bakery or photographer asked to assist a pervert wedding should say “yes” bu then do a terrible job.Cakes should look, and taste,terrible...photos should be out of focus, badly lit and badly framed. When the perverts complain apologize profusely (with your fingers crossed behind your back) and give them a full refund. It’ll cost you money but not nearly as much as if you had said “no”.

the tape where that guy went out and found muslim bakers who refused to bake a gay wedding cake didn’t go far enough. Someone needs to get a real gay couple to sue muslim bakeries who refuse to serve gays. Let’s put liberalism and their bulls**t double standards to the test.

How about the emotional damages to the people these freaks have intentionally put out of business? How many of these games have been played by gay bakers and florists against their competition?

Good thinking, but costly. If the bakery suspects its being ‘shopped’, how about asking for 100% payment upfront? If questioned, just say “that the last gay couple never even picked up their cake.”

Not so fast there. San Saba County, TX and its county clerk were threatened with a suit from a gay organization if they didn’t issue a gay marriage license this week. The freaks live in uber gay loving Austin but instead of getting a license there, they made it a point to go after a small county of 6000 people who can’t afford legal action. One of the sick freaks was from San Saba so this is a slap in the face of his friends, relatives and neighbors. The guy’s brother is/was something with the Llano DA’s office so that may have been the push. Llano slipped by the first few days claiming they were waiting to get new forms that didn’t say “man and woman.”

Did you see the latest gay numbers by cities that was posted on FR a few weeks ago? Austin was ranked 4th highest percent of gays. Funny thing, Round Rock was included. If Round Rock hadn’t been included to throw off the numbers, I bet Austin would have snatched the #1 spot from San Francisco. Can’t figure out why they’d want to include Round Rock unless someone wanted San Francisco to keep the princess crown.

Austin is where we send our loco’s that won’t leave past the borders.

“Keep Austin Weird” is not just the slogan of the Austin Independent Business Alliance. It is a point of pride for most of the city residents.

I have a question...if the baker just says “no,” does the couple have a right to ask why??? Do they have a right to know why he said no?

Texas Attorney General Encourages Clerks to Refuse Marriage Licenses to Gay Couples
http://www.slate.com/blogs/outward/2015/06/29/texas_attorney_general_encourages_clerks_to_refuse_marriage_licenses_to.html

County clerks and their employees retain religious freedoms that may allow accommodation of their religious objections to issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The strength of any such claim depends on the particular facts of each case.

Yes, I know what Paxton said but there is also the time and energy which these small counties face even with pro bono legal help. Until these counties know for 100% certain they could win over the federal then they aren’t going to risk it.

Gov’t Official Refuses to Personally Issue Gay Marriage Licenses — and Here’s the Supreme Court Quote She’s Using to Back Her Stance

A Texas county clerk is citing her Christian faith in announcing that she will not personally offer marriage licenses to gay couples, saying that she is constitutionally protected from being forced to do so.

“The religious doctrines to which I adhere compel me to personally refrain from issuing same-sex marriage licenses,” Hood County clerk Katie Lang said this week in a statement on the county’s website.

The same thing happened to California. Remember we are the State that gave the Nation Ronald Reagan. We once had the best economy, the best schools, the best roads, the best living standards in the world. Now we are a third world liberal crap hole.
