Brent Bozell On Scott Walker Hiring Brad Dayspring: ‘Get Rid Of This Cretin Immediately’
dailycaller.com ^ | 7/1/15 | Beth Rothstein

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell has some rather harsh words for Brad Dayspring, the former National Republican Senatorial Committee strategist who is now working for presidential hopeful Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker‘s SuperPAC.

Dayspring is well-known for his hotheaded ways. His personality has even earned him a nickname in certain GOP circles: “Brad Dayscream.” As most who travel political Washington terrain know, when he departed then-House Maj. Leader Eric Cantor‘s office, he nearly came to blows with a senior staffer.

Bozell, who was speaking in his capacity as Chairman of ForAmerica, is obviously not president of the Brad Dayspring Fan Club.

“Gov. Walker should have known better than to hire Brad Dayspring, the worst GOP anti-conservative hit man in Washington,” Bozell wrote in a statement released Wednesday. “Brad Dayspring has a despicable record using character assassination to besmirch the reputations of conservative candidates and public policy leaders. He’s paid to do the ugly work of the Washington establishment. He is the personification of everything that’s wrong in politics today.

“Gov. Walker, people are policy. If you want conservatives’ support, you need to get rid of this cretin immediately.”

Didn't anyone learn the lesson of when Michele Bachmann hired Ed Rollins as her campaign manager in June 2011? By September he was gone for publicly disparaging Bachmann.

Well Clinton used a private email server and Walker used a secret router for the same reasons. As far as I know Walker has never been involved in mysterious deaths and crooked foundations. Has he been involved in “Pay to Play’? Don’t know, that is still under investigation.

I see Walker as the Republican establishment version of Jimmy Carter. The difference is I think Carter was more ethical than what I have seen out of Walker.

Thanks for the info on the consultants. I’m keeping an eye on the WEDC thing. Even if nothing illegal happened there, the agency is a disgrace. For all those millions of dollars, Wisconsin has not benefited and many have lost jobs to outsourcing by the companies that received funds.

Yes I think Walker has ethics problems in WI that are not going away also.

I liked Walker's fight against unions but I've never considered him ready to be POTUS. I think he would be in waaaaay over his head.

There is something about him that makes me uneasy.

With incompetent Obama in the Oval office, I'm afraid a lot of unqualified people thin k they can be POTUS.

Hillary comes to mind.

Yes I agree. There is just something about Walker don’t trust. I also just do not think he has what it takes to generate the excitement to win a general election. He will not take it to the Dem candidate the way Trump or Cruz will. Actually none of the others will. IMO.

Walker would be best off trying to keep the same political team he had for his gubernatorial campaigns. They won three statewide races and in each case, they did better than the pre-election polls would have indicated. Wisconsin would be a state that would be a must-win for him in a general election campaign.

Remember also that presidential candidates sometimes shuffle their political advisory staffs during their campaigns, so who knows if Dayspring will still be on board when the primaries start in earnest.

Two things I’d always advise Walker or anyone else to be careful of.

There’s no guarantee the additions are on your team. They may be on someone else team. They could be GOPe people working another agenda.

I’d also suggest it’s very important to watch your staff looking for sleeper Leftists who have their own agenda. They may not carry out your directives in earnest, dragging their feet or undermining your efforts.

I’m sure Walker’s been around long enough to know this. It’s a problem.

Yawn, attacking candidates for staff hires is lame.

I have thought the same thing and couldn't put my finger on it. After all, anyone able to smash the WI Union has something going for him.

Here is what I think it is: he has not, to my knowledge, tried to elevate or generalize his small (but important) victories in WI into a bigger vision for how that translates for America.

Reagan, as always, is the exception. Reagan, as a result of his GE tours, had already developed that big national and international vision---what he needed was a little hands on experience in governing, which he got as governor. For RR, the governorship was a sort of graduate school.

Regardless of whether he is there for the long haul or not, Walker hired him. He has made several anti-conservative hires. one of biggest jobs the President has is putting the right people in the right spots.

After his campaign hires, I have no faith in him to do that effectively.
