The inner democrat really comes out when it comes to the confederate battle flag. Those who wave it say they support your right to free speech as long as it agrees with us. Because if you disagree with us then you’re just uneducated. I’d expect that from democrats. It’s sad to hear that from republicans defending a flag born by democrats waved in battle against them and the United States. And I agree that democrat voters who oppose said flag are uneducated about it because their party created it in the 1st place, but republican voters who oppose it know why we do.

Political ideology aside, I can spot mass hysteria when I see it....and point out how absurd it is.

It is implied by you by the fact your ancestors were democrat slaver defenders, nobody in the South was a republican. Anyone who fought for the Confederacy fought to keep slavery; knowingly or unknowingly.
Good little German soldiers fought for Hitler, they would lie to you and themselves that they fought for their motherland.
Demorats fought for the government that defended slavery, just like good soldiers of the Germany fought for the NAZI Party. Where is the NAZI Party now in Germany? The Demorat Party should be in the same place - abolished.

Hard to get past the significant, improper capitalization, “republican” and “democrat” especially in the context of “uneducated.”
I am unaware of any elected Republican who has said anything positive about the Confederate Battle Flag. It is of little interest to most people outside of its’ historical roots in the South.
I have no idea what so ever as to why we are being pummeled by this nonsense as the flag flies at confederate monuments and grave sights.
As I have said before, I am not even sure I have ever seen on flying in person as i live in Ohio and even on my trips South have never actually seen one on a flag pole outside of a historical sight. Where one would expect to see a historical flag.
Do you realize that you can make the same foolish statement about the US flag. There was far more slavery under the US flag than under the Confederate flag.
Then you would understand that the rebel flag has morphed through the years as being a symbol of rebellion against big gov or authoritarianism?
I'll admit that the removal of the flag is symbolism over substance, though I have been against that Demorat flag for the longest time. If we are going to do something with substance, we should ban the political Party that upheld slavery without apology.
It is the Demorat Party that has this heritage of hate. No Republican EVER held slaves - ONLY DEMORATS. The Demorat Party has NEVER apologized for slavery! If we are going to ban anything meaningful because of slavery - BAN THE DEMORAT PARTY !!!

And some make the same argument about the Gadsden Flag.
So what if it morphed? It still is tainted with demorat history.
My g grandfather fought in the Civil War. I didn’t agree with the reason, but I won’t have his grave pissed on. Oh, and BTW....since everything is about race, now.....he married a Cherokee.

Yeppers, liberals use this red herring often. The slave trade ended in 1808, when there was far less slaves in the US than in 1860. The US flag is a flag that represented both demorat slavers and abolitionists until 1860, the rebel flag ONLY represented demorat slaver defenders.
Only demorats held that flag during the Civil War - not Republicans.
Stop defending demorat history.
