Christians: Stand your ground! (...6 things believers can do in wake of high-court ruling)
WND ^ | June 30, 2015 | Greg Laurie

The church is under attack today in every way imaginable – literally as well as figuratively!

We still are reeling from the horrific attacks against the AME Church in Charleston. While our brothers and sisters gathered for a mid-week Bible study and prayer time, they were shot dead. We have seen an amazing display of forgiveness on their part for this cold-blooded killer. Facing the killer in court, several relatives who also attended AME Church extended their forgiveness to this young man, despite his indescribably evil act.

The church has since gone back to their mid-week Bible study, saying, “This is God’s space. We are not giving it up!” God bless them.

Then there are the attacks on Christians in the Middle East by ISIS and other Islamic terrorists, with followers of Jesus being beheaded, tortured and crucified. This is full-tilt persecution.

The church in America is also under attack.

Christians are routinely mocked, marginalized, denigrated and attacked. The Bible clearly tells us that persecution against the church is a sign of the end times. In Matthew 24:9 (NLT) Jesus says: “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.”

How have you faced such persecution – on any level? The New Testament also makes clear that this shouldn’t surprise you. In 2 Timothy 3:12 (NKJV), the Apostle Paul writes, “All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

And now the Supreme Court has decided in favor of same-sex marriage.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed by this decision. It is clearly the wrong decision. By making this ruling the court has invalidated the marriage laws of more than half the states, summarily ordering the transformation of a social institution that has formed

By making this ruling the court has invalidated the marriage laws of more than half the states, . . .

Way more than half. There were only about a half-dozen states which had enacted these sham marriages through the legislative or referendum process.

Most of the rest of them, including ours, had it imposed on them by judicial fiat and a gutless governor unwilling to resist. That's a main reason why he is no longer governor and the only GOP governor ousted in the 2014 election cycle.

“So, what else should we do in light of this Supreme Court ruling?

1. First, don’t panic! God is still on the throne.

2. We need to remember that Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible.[”Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to his plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good.”]

3. We need show this culture what a biblical marriage looks like.

4. We need to show the love of Christ to everyone!

5. We need to engage all people with the gospel.

6. We need to pray.

Let’s not give up or lose hope.”

I think my response is going to be to talk with each of my grand daughters at length whenever I get the chance to.

I had to watch them the other day and my youngest had gotten into a fracas with the middle one (older still sleeping) Ages 7-9 and 11. She ultimately knew she was wrong and went and hid in her closet, ashamed. I had the middle one tell her to come down, I wanted to talk with her and she finally did.

We talked for over an hour. I never said anything about her altercation with her sister. I asked her about school and grades and accomplishments, boys, how many, what to do when you don’t like them, what she thinks.... ideas about marriage, how hard is school, etc. Really it was just of whole collection of my asking stuff and listening to her. She forgot all about what put her in the closet. But I came away with the sense that she if far beyond where I was at that age.

I want to do that with all of them - I told their mother, too. But I am going to gently focus some of the questions about what specifics they are being taught now about relationships and stuff. We’ll see.

Wow just a few minutes ago I was channel surfing. I stopped when I saw Whoopie Goldberg face angry. She was ranting about the 10 Commandments does not mention Gay Marriage. Also that Jesus walked among the sinners and sat with them.

Hey Whoopie!

1) The 10 Commandments does not mention Polygamy, Incest nor Pedophilia and other orientations.

2) Yes Jesus sat with the sinners BUT he did not partake in their activities.

The other airheads were all nodding in approval.

I wish you success with that...God bless.

I have a conservative Christian friend with three daughters. My friend’s sister decided she was a lesbian and “married” a woman. The sister is a bully who threatens the family she’ll never see them again unless they accept her lifestyle and her “wife.”

Me, I’d say well, you’d best get walking then. But my friend gave in, and as a result her three school-aged daughters now believe queer marriage is perfectly fine.

It really grieves me that she has allowed her lesbian sister to dictate like that, at the expense of her daughters.

Agreed. But forgot to include:
7. Get elected. Run for office at local and state level, and school boards.
8. Refuse to participate in gay pride events in your workplace.
9. Sue in response to any attempts at coercion or harassment.

[[.[”Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to his plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good.”]]]

Not to be a downer, but, While true, “Good’ does not always, or even often mean, for our ‘earthly good’- many Christians suffer terribly and die- obviously ‘for good’ means something other than what we think it would mean. God does not promise to protect us from evil, only that ‘good’ will come of it-

the _resident has vowed he is going to squeeze every last possible action of ‘progress’ he can before he leaves office- and has vowed that the next few months are going to be even more than the last week has been- and anyone not taking him at his word are blind to the FACT that he did just what he said he would do- ‘fundamentally change this nation’

We have 18 months left folks- he can and WILL do a lot more damage before he leaves office- prepare yourselves- This last ruling has opened the door to literal persecution of Christians- Some Christians have already lost their jobs, and may even lose their homes now that they no longer have jobs or businesses- The left are already targeting businesses, and calling for court rulings making it illegal for Christian businesses to object or deny service based on religious convictions-

These people are very serious=- and sadly they have full blessings from the supreme court apparently- We’ve only just begun to see the evil of this administration- the first 6 years have been child’s play compared to what’s coming- there WILL be an assault on our second amendment and even our first

Is you friend a Christian? If so, she hasn’t been able to explain to her kids that DESPITE what the sinners in public schools think, homosexuality always has been and always will be an ABOMINATION I n the sight of the Lord?

[[The sister is a bully who threatens the family she’ll never see them again unless they accept her lifestyle and her “wife.”]]

God’s promise is that IF such a situation arises- you WILL lose your family members because of your uncompromising stance, BUT you WILL gain new family (IE: the family of Christ)- While it hurts tremendously to have to be rejected by family because of beliefs, God does promise to ease it by adding GOOD people to your ‘family’ abundantly- Blessed are they who...

He also condemned the sins- NOT approve of them- He was NOT afraid to tell the TRUTH even if it was unpopular!

7) we need to get active politically and vote out the un-Godly and vote in solid christian men and women who use their votes to follow the teachings of Christ and the Bible.

Yes, she's a Christian, and her daughters are in a Christian (Catholic) school. I don't know how they've managed to receive such an education and not receive the truth about homo marriage.

But the responsibility ultimately falls to the parents. I think my friend lacks the will to stand up to her sister. She actually took the girls to the "wedding."

Yes, He never leaves us in a fix. He always provides what we need.

I guess I need to be keeping my friend and her family in prayer always.

We should just re-name marriage to mean a religious ceremony as opposed to a civil one taking place after the law’s enactment. The govt may have to recognize gay marriage but the people do not. I cant think of a better way to pizz off militant gays than responding to a “wedding” announcement with “isn’t that special”. Likewise use air quotes when talking about a gay “wedding”.

I quit seeing my sister after she decided to shack up. I didn’t want my son learning that it was acceptable.

Kids learn by example. By adults allowing bad behavior around, kids learn that it is ok. You have to cut it off at the pass.
