Are Key Republican Leaders in D.C. Being Blackmailed?

Are key Republican leaders in D.C. from the Senate, House and Supreme Court being blackmailed? Tell me you haven’t thought the exact same thing? Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in DC. Rotten like a dead fish left at the front door of a Congressmen’s office by the Obama Crime Family. Rotten like a photo of a Supreme Court Justice with his robe down at his ankles.

Because what’s happening just isn’t normal. Please tell me how it’s possible that President Obama and his socialist cabal suffered the most massive and historic defeat in modern political history only 9 months ago- and since then they’ve gotten everything they’ve ever wanted handed to them on a silver platter. Does that make sense to you?

How’s it possible that the GOP- the party that won in a massive historic landslide gained nothing and won nothing? Not one victory. Zero. Zilch. Or in a language Democrats understand “Nada.”

Not only did Obama’s party lose badly…they lost everywhere from top to bottom. Senate. House. State Legislatures. Mayors. Governors. You name it. They lost the Governorships of deep blue Maryland and Massachusetts. They were destroyed.

And it was all about Obama. He wasn’t defeated- he was repudiated. Democrat Senate candidates refused his help. Democrats would not stand next to him on the same stage. Democrats treated Obama like a New Jersey toxic waste dump. Democrats treated Obama like a rotten fish.

They’re actually Leftist, pretending to be Conservative, which is why they have so much trouble providing any leadership role in opposition. They don’t have argument against obama because they happen to agree with him

I have a much simpler explanation. Republicans stand for nothing. They are always for just a little bit less than the Dems. Republicans of today are far to the left of Dems of 40 years ago. They would shame FDR.
Is it possible they are being blackmailed? Of course, I am not so naïve as to think that cannot happen in my dear America.

“Are Key Republican Leaders in D.C. Being Blackmailed?”

There was a time when THAT question would have been laughed off...Not now

I am suspicious as well. Could those at the top be this destructive on their own? Maybe, but look at Hastert, for example ... It can and does happen (blackmail, that is).

How about ‘greed’? for both money and power.

Public servant? Representing their constituents? Pffff....
It is a racketeering racket.

Clinton had 1400 FBI files to use for what ever he thought proper. Now with NSA they have everything on everybody.

My bet is that the same big money elitists are pulling the strings in both parties. Both serve the same masters.

I think some are being blackmailed but IMO the preponderance of them enjoy their lifestyle and importance to the point of tossing logic, honesty, the Country out the window. Kick the can down the road.

If it was simply blackmail why wouldn’t some of the old-timers resign and retire? They aren’t padding their retirement funds by any amount by staying in?
Heck, they could make more money as lobbyists.

They love people kissing their ring, the Washington parties, travel, lifestyle.

“Are Key Republican Leaders in D.C. Being Blackmailed?”

This so often repeated foolishness is the wishful thinking of cretins who still believe in the “Republican Party”.

Sure, any Member of Congress with any sort of power has compiled a stack of blackmailable misdeeds, sexual, intoxication-related, or bribe taking.

But it’s much more probable that, since they all come from the same social class, all go to the same schools, all are trained the same way, all marry the same women, all share the same girlfriends or boyfriends, and all are offered wealth far, far beyond their native ability to create, that they (your “key Republican leaders”) are true believers in the dominant paradigm - that the time for self-government is over, that the voters are idiots who deserve to be screwed over, and that the only security for themselves and their families is to be enthusiastic soldiers in the New World Order, even if they need (mercifully brief) periods of concealment around election time.

If by blackmailed you mean cashing in on insider trading and HUGE ‘donations’ then yes...Blackmailed.

The only Republicans with convictions these days are the ones sitting in jail.

People who believe in blackmail are out of their minds. Conspiracy buffs. People who don’t believe in them are so very, very intelligent. The use of “Lubyanka Ladies” was perfected by the KGB. I am sure their methods have not been refined by U.S. intelligence. Hillary Clinton obtained 900 FBI files for totally innocent reasons. J. Edgar Hoover taped Martin Luther King. I don’t believe these tapes were ever made public. He was just drinking tea with various ladies of the night. The NSA and FBI had no knowledge of Dennis Hasters peccadilloes. General Petraeus’ relationships became public at the most inconvenient time. The problem is that Israeli and Chinese intelligence agencies have access to this nonexistent information. Of course they would never blackmail an American politician.

Boehner and McConnell have nothing at all that would be of interest to a blackmailer, right?

Why do establishment politicians hate Conservatives?

No grounds for blackmail and extortion.

NSA and the Chinese have blank files on billions of people so they are of course harmless.

Well, the Legislative branch has rendered itself irrelevant by continually granting the Executive branch additional power and by an ideological Judiciary, so it doesn’t really matter what the reasoning is.

It’s just a sideshow.

Who said that elections have consequences? Soap box, ballot box, jury box - all gone. Do we have the courage to open the last box.

I am a free man. I was born free and I will die that way. My knee bends to no one except He who made me.

Uh, no. They are not being blackmailed, they really are that corrupt. Mr. Root seems to forget who these people are. They are all citizens of Washington D C and by God, they are there to stay. That means doing everything in their power, legal or illegal to retain, grow and consolidate that power.

It’s bad enough when senators and congressmen are being blackmailed. But there’s enough wiggle room so that others in the large groups possibly could make good decisions/law.

Much scarier is the great probability that SCOTUS members, i.e., Roberts, are being blackmailed, especially now that they’re making law (unconstitutionally). There are too few of them.
