Oh wow!...What lessons, what reminders, what depth, from Nelson’s preaching as a result of Scotus decision. Riveting says it well...I could not pull away so heard the entire sermon...

Indeed, when he says, “now we will all see ‘who is who’”... among Christians as God uses wrong ‘to show who is right’ among our men of faith who now must decide to stand with God or Serve the world. This is the test for our generation in the church.

To: who knows what evil?

....” this particular time in our history.”....

There has been no other time in this generations history where our Pastors and churches will have to choose who’s side they are on....God’s or the governments. Nobody can stay on a fence on this one as Scotus made same sex marriage ‘LAW’ across this nation. You either comply or you don’t.

We will soon see who is who as “God takes this wrong and uses it to show us all who is right”.....We are already seeing this on this thread as people show how their Pastors responded to this decision.

Thank you again.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 identifies that (and mosty) church’s failure in following the Holy Bible.

That preacher is a woman (of Eve, who bought the original lie and spread it), a false teacher (contrary to the Holy Bible) and a sodomite.

You were right to flee, as instructed in Romans 16:17.

Luther spins in his grave.

And also to you. (a little Lutheran humor there)

Thanks for your response; I know there are times when I feel our congregation is an island unto itself. It’s nice to connect with like-minded folks.

John Wesley, who founded our denomination, spins in his grave as well. Thanks for your support.

Mine declared Obama is not a Muslim for lighting the White House

LOL. Seriously? I'd guess there are plenty of nominal or liberal Muslims who think "homosexuals deserve to be happy, too." But I don't know. Your pastor could be right.

Last Sunday just happened to be one of the rare times that I missed our sermon. I'll definitely have to catch the replay once it's online, especially since people have told me it was especially good.

Instead, I went to a Gideons presentation, this one at a Pentecostal church. Their pastor said something in passing to condemn the SCOTUS ruling.

Here’s another great one that is a few years old, but prophetic and timely.

The sellouts (ELCA, PCUSA, UCC, Episcopal) were celebrating. In orthodox circles, still too much silence, as there's been all along.

Thanks for linking the article. I too belong an Episcopal parish that has held together despite the polarization of its membership for many of the same reasons both pastors in the article described. Our rector did discuss the marriage decision and gave full recognition to its impact but reminded all that despite differences, we needed one another and are in church for a common purposes, including both worship and prayer.

So I emailed the pastor and told her... I think I may have found your congregation's problem in this matter.

Amen...find the nearest exit and never enter again

I told her that if the leadership decides to affirm gay marriage that I would leave,

if they are even discussing this, you should leave....sorry, I wasted 10 years of my adult life in a church like this
