The majority of firearms being manufactured in the US today are pure junk, and there is a reason for that.
The US gave away its edge in machining technology and quality control to china and mexico. The chinese and mexicans now can produce better products with our knowledge, and at our expense.
Doesn’t matter though, feel free to buy all of the firearms that you like. They’re all pretty much useless if you don’t have any ammunition for them, or worse, a smaller supply than you enemy.
It all boils down to profits. The shareholders want greater returns on their investments. If the US firearms companies offshore, then profits increase.
I’ve heard this same line here on FR countless times, for countless industries.
So if you draw the line at firearms manufacturing being offshored, suck it, because the shareholder vote trumps you 2nd ammendment rights.
People here chose profits over freedom, and now you have to pay the price for that loss.
Blame it all on the bogeyman of your choice: governmemt, unions, cronies, whatever. But in the end, those industries have been lost for good, and you will most likely never get them back, because they now belong to foreign nations, and those foreign nations thank you stupid Americans for giving them the keys to the kingdom.
